My first experience by this company was when the sales man didn't show and wrote a message on his card "sorry had two flat tires and my cell phone died".  That alone should have been enough to send one running in the opposite direction.  If I had only known this was just the begining of the BS this company, it's staff and it's contractors were about to put me and my family through I would have chosen someone else.

My roof was replaced in April 2010, after four days and at the first sign of rain my flashing leaked.  Water was pouring down my cathedral ceiling onto my recently installed laminate floors damaging both.  Oddly that was the reason I had purchased a new roof to prevent this kind of catastophe from happening.  Oh boy that was just the begining.  There were numerous unanswered phone calls and people showing up unexpectedly on my roof when my daughter was home alone (even though I had requested I be home).

One employee brought all the repair product by and placed them in my drive way for the roofing team to use.  When I came home this material was in the same placed it was left.  After numerous unreturned calls I was told my roof had been fixed. THere was a time crunch because a storm was expected.  The next day a man's face appeared above me in my living room skylight removing my skylight. I had to ask the obvious question 'what the heck".  He couldn't speak English so couldn't provide any answers. When I called the company the individual said "dam they lied to me".  This is just a minor example of just one of my incidences.

Anyway after many non returned calls and no shows the painting company showed to repair my ceiling. I had pulled the flooring up myself that morning because I was expecting the flooring replacement in a few days also.  Of course the flooring company never showed when scheduled and Tim Brookes VP acted like I had lost my mind at the suggestion I had scheduled an appt.  Any how when I moved all my furniture back I noticed a thin film of paint on my nice expensive leather couches.  After numberous phone calls and no shows they removed it.  By this time I had lost total faith in this companies competency and requested they provide a cash settlement so that I can chose a company at "THEIR" expense to get my floors repaired. I obtained an estimate from Lowes and forwarded it to them. One minute they said get an estimate and choose the flooring materials and the next (OF COURSE) it was no way will I pay!!!

I contacted the Better Business Bureau who stated "Superior Roofing are willing to fix the problem you have to give them a chance".  An appt date was scheduled but I had insisted that the contractors be experience flooring techs.  Would you believe they actually showed up on time WOW!!  The first thing I asked was their experience lever. I was informed " I have laid them before".  I called the BBB and told her "this guys are not experienced.  I was told you have to give them a chance.

After they laid half the floor I decided to inspect their work.  It was terrible!! I had a gap around door jab, many of the planks had chips and large gaps between them.  They were using the wrong tools and actually banging the planks together with the metal tool used for the edges damaging the grooves.  I have a large amount of experience of laying floors so knew exactly what to look for.  WHen I pointed out the gap around the door jam, the one staff member told me .."we will fill it with caulk".  Something only an idiot with no experience would suggest. At this point I asked them to pack up and leave.  I took photo's and updated the BBB.

After that the company refused to work further with me.  The BBB forwarded us to mediation.  I had a serious accident and had to cancel my first appt. I promptly scheduled another mediation appt, but also filed a small claims court date in case the mediation didn't go well.  They cancelled the second appt last minute with the statement I "do not wish to continue to mediate but will go to court".  Now I am getting emails stating "you have violated your arbitration section of the contract".

Tim Brookes has no morals or concern for his customers!!  My living room has been in a state of construction since April. We no longer use the living room and spend our free time in our seperate rooms.  I am just wanting to put my Christmas tree up and have my living room back to normal before Christmas, but this owner continues to play his mind games or the intimidation game.

Well we are heading to court next week and will see where it goes from there.  Please keep in mind all although this was a long statement I haven't not shared many of the crazy incidents and large amount of wasted time I sat around waiting for them to show.  I was told one time they were stuck in tunnel traffic. When I googled the tunnel traffic it was flowing freely.  This company has gotten away with this for a long time. This is not their first rodeo but they are used to people giving up and not speaking out or fighting them.

Dissatisfied customers DO NOT GIVE UP FIGHTING THIS COMPANY.  They are con artists!!!!  But remember win or loose "what goes around comes around!!

Local Area Roofing Competitors using False Defamation

AUTHOR: beachone - (USA)

POSTED: Friday, April 08, 2016

It's unfortunate that former competitors of Superior Roofing Systems are using this site, even years later to this day, to bash the former owners by name. They do it anonymously because they know that attorneys have been involved to file cease and desist letters to those who are incorrectly spreading defamatory information. Superior Roofing Systems was owned by two previous business partners. Their former office manager Jeanie Pender was fired and convicted in a court of law for felony embezzlement. This is public record. After she was fired she created a roofing company that is still in business today as RTB Construction. After many legal battles and successfully convicting her of the felony embezzlement, superior roofing systems managing partnership decided to end their union, go their separate ways, and the doors to the business closed largely in part because of the damage that had been caused from the embezzlement. All outstanding contracts were completed in full. Warrantees for the roofing shingles would be covered under GAF, Owens Corning or Tamko depending on the manufactures former customers used. Superior Roofing Systems was a preferred contractor with Owens Corning. Preferred contractors are verified through Owens Corning through financials, background checks, insurance and state registration. They were not a fly-by-night company. They were in business in this area for many years, over a decade, and performed work for thousands upon thousands of satisfied customers. They did charitable work for Old Dominion University as well as other charitable outlets. What I would say to anyone considering work from any contractor in this area, look at BBB ratings, look at whether the roofing contractor works out of their truck or their home and whether they are a registered corporation with the state. Determine if they are a class A, class B, or class C contractor and verify insurance. There's more than price involved when doing such a large project. A real problem exists when homeowners today go with a local contractor and then... the representative of the company who lost out on the job wants to use this site as a scare tactic to try to regain the business by telling the potential homeowner to stop payment, cancel their contracts and use them instead. That is not ethical business. And someone who is using such dishonest practices, in my opinion, would not be trusted with such a large project on my most valuable investment.. My home.

Michelle Dabelle is the scam artist

AUTHOR: Norfolk - ()

POSTED: Thursday, March 20, 2014

I am familiar with this person as I worked for this company for many years.  Michelle Dabelle is a scam artist and any company that tried to work with her should be informed.  She attempted 3 separate times to scam money from Superior Roofing.

First she had her car in the driveway the night before the job was to begin.  We had dropped of a dump trailer which she was well aware of as needed preparation for the job.  That night it rained.  She contacted the company the next day stating that her convertible top has a rip and that it rained in her car and she wanted compensation for the damage.

Second, Superior Roofing did own up to the flashing issue on  her roof and sent a painter over to fix the interior damage after the roof was fixed.  (her claims on unanswered phone calls were because she contacted the company on the weekend when the business was closed.  Her phone calls were returned at the reopening on Monday.)  After a week she attempted to have Superior Roofing buy her all new furniture to the tune of $3000 in which she sent over the original invoice for her furniture purchase.  When we met with the painting company at her property there was no damage to her furniture at all.

Superior Roofing was a fixture in the Hampton Roads area for over a decade and performed THOUSANDS of residential and commercial roofing.  You can check their reviews on various "reputable" sources on the internet.  We would never speak to a customer on the phone the way she is indicating and say about our own employees "dam they lied to me" Her statement should just be one indication about what a liar she is.

Michelle Dabelle had her entire floor redone by Superior Roofing and only after they had completely finished and cleaned up and left did she later come back and say she was ripping up all the flooring they installed and throwing it away.  Her file with the BBB was denied because there WAS NO VALID ISSUE.  In the end, Superior Roofing paid for her to install her own floor which I'm sure she most likely pocketed because I doubt she ripped up the floor that was laid perfectly.  We have pictures to prove.  MICHELLE DABELLE = SCAM ARTIST FOR SURE!

I would say to anyone using this site that you should assume that it is a soap box for angry, self centered, greedy people who don't get something for nothing.  The whole tactics for this site is to extort money from sincere, valid companies who have had a rant done against them with no way to prove innocence.  It's a d**n shame.

Comment on Tim Brooks from Superior Roofing

AUTHOR: smithinchesapeake - ()

POSTED: Saturday, March 30, 2013

Yes, I know all too well about this company, I too was ripped off. Anyone that lives in the Hampton roads area has probably dealt with this company. The funny thing is Superior Roofing Systems company closed down with no way of getting a hold of Tim Brooks about jobs done under Superior Roofing Systems. I have recently learned Tim Brooks, (scam artist) has now opened a new company in the Hampton Roads area (virginia beach) and is now operating a company called United Roofing Corporation. I think anyone who has been scammed by his former company should know this.
