My husband and I attended Superior Travel Services (STS) sales presentation. We were told how we can drastically save on flights, timeshare resorts, hotels and cruises. They showed us a graph explaining how airlines need to make an average per seat, so they charge consumers different prices for the seats to meet that average. We were promised the lowest ticketed price of any passagner on that plane, because of their relationship with the airlines.

We were also shown a board that displayed the prices from many different timeshare resorts based on a week's stay. The prices would vary from $199-299 depending on quality and location. It was not explained these prices are available for "express" weeks for reservations 30days or less out. When we were speaking to our sales personal we explained repeatedly that we schedule our vacations 6 months to a year out because of our busy schedules. They assured us these low prices would apply. The truth was the charge would be a minimun of $399 and would go up depending upon quality and location. This is what a travel rep told us from International Travel Solutions(ITS) (the company STS sold us a membership to).

When we tried to book a hotel, ITS could only give a $10 discount on a room.

When we tried to book a Cancun vacation, their price was $270-300 less than the free travel websites on the internet (Priceline, Cheap Carribean, Expedia, ect.) And there was no difference in price on the flights. The mimimal savings does not justify the $5400 membership and $199 annually fee spent for the membership. ITS customer service was weak too, it took several phone calls to get someone to help us. Slow to return calls if they return them at all. We would be better off booking travel on a travel website than dealing with these headaches.

STS said the program is like a Sam's Club membership. But ITS doesn't buy inventory in bulk promising steep discounts. The travel rep from ITS told us they fight for inventory along with other discount travel companies, like Expedia, ect. And they don't offer discounts on flights.

STS has a 3 day return policy but you cannot use the system for 7 businees days. However, ITS had STS fax over our paper work early so we could get started on our vacation plans. Our sales person form STS called and reminded us of the 7 day waiting period. But even by this time the 3 days period was over and we were just discovering what we had got ourselves into. A travel scam!

After getting prices for our travel and discovering the ITS couldn't offer us the promised discount we called STS's manager and did ask for a refund. Of course, they won't refund our money. Nor did he seem to care, just likes to talk fast.

Price Match Guarantee

AUTHOR: Superior Travel Services - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, July 16, 2013

I am in receipt of the above complaint and offer the following. I can assue that any travel discounts that were marketed are true and honest prices. We promise discounts on hotels, condominiums, cruises, rental cars, ect. As mentioned, we have many Express Weeks, which are week stays in condominiums averaging between $199-$399 that must be booked 59 days or less in advance. Our members enjoy these specials and request them frequently; the entire list of Express Weeks can be found on the website or by calling International Travel Solutions directly. Our members always have the Price Match Guarantee-which states we will beat any travel price from any source on any matching itineraries. Members simply have to provide, in writing, their quote and the details associated with the request. They also claim that they could not access their program for 7-10 days, which is not the case. It does take time for Superior Travel Services to process a members file, then the file is sent to International Travel Solutions (ITS) for them to process as well. In the meantime, members can always call Superior Travel Services (STS) to inquire about any reservations. We are willing to assist our members at anytime.

My wife and I purchased a Travel Package from Superior Travel Services and are extremely happy. My wife and I do a European trip every year. We were visiting the Smokey Mountains with the kids and got talked into attending the presentation. I was skeptical at first. I had heard so many warnings about timeshare. I don't know why you had such a bad experience, but i will tell you first hand that after they showed me what it would cost me with their club to go to Paris I was sold. I asked for proof and they let me get on the computer and book it through their system that day. I already had the trip planned to stay at the Waldorf. My price was a 8,452 dollars.  I booked it through I.T.S for less than 5000 dollars. It took them 15 minutes to book...That stipulation of me buying the program was that they prove that they can do what they say. I have to say I was pleased. My wife and I loved our stay in Paris. They now do all my travel planning. The time saved and care free travel is worth more to me and my family than the money saved. Thank you Superior Travel Services.

Not at all the experience I had

I purchased a membership from this company a little over a year ago.  I was provided several discounts off the purchase price for things that were associated with this program that I wouldn't use like golf and RVing.  I have had a more than satisfactory experience with this program.  I also recieved a $12 discount on a hotel that was normally $50.  That was a more then 20% savings on anything I could do on my own.  As harry explained to me that if I stayed in a hotel 10 times in a year it would offset my annual dues (He was right by the way, stayed 11 nights in a hotel this year combined savings was 228.00) We also booked the alskan cruise this year with the land tour included.  Our prefered cruise line is holand america and wee booked it for 812.00 per person; this was a savings of over 2,000 a person on the best deal we could find on expedia priceline and orbitz.  They didn't save us a dime on the airfare but we were also told that they only promised the lowest (which it was).  If I remeber correctly in the paperwork we signed it said not to purchase this program for airfare savings. I would recomend and have recomended this program to anyone that travels extensively. From what this complaint sounds like is the person who bought it spent more then they could afford and is just trying to slander the company on the internet in order to hold the company hostage into giving their money back. The internet is the unregulated and people can post anything they want.  Instead of taking advise from people you don't know people use your head and evalute the discision based on wether it would benifit you and your family.
