supersportz Dominator 800 UTV problems and lack of warranty and customer support Internet

I ordered a Dominator 800 from an Odes retailer on April 29 2012. I paid to have the importer assemble the unit so I would have the Odes warranty since there is no dealer in the area. They said it was ready to ship on June 11 -- it was finally delivered June 21. The delivery man warned us that the brakes needed bleeding since they were soft. Two rubber bumpers were loose in the bed--they had been torn off so I quickly looked over the unit and found extra bolts and pin in the cup holder.

Also it looked like two different people put the unit together. All the bolts on the driver side were tightened, with no stripped bolts. On the passenger side, however, several of the bolts were loose and needed tightening, the 3 bolts holding the plastic cover were stripped and we couldn't get the door to open without a lot of work--the door catch needed to be reworked. Got the license plates on Thurs, the 28th. We took it for a ride on the forestry road--put 21 miles on it. We parked it outside the shop to let it cool off, and when I tried to start it to put it away, and the battery seemed to be very weakwouldn't turn the engine over. I took the battery cover off and the posts seemed to be arcing--that's when I found out that a bolt on each side was stripped.

I took the cowling off to check the oil and look at the engine and found the pre-filter ripped up and found an antifreeze leak. I had to charge the battery back up and was able to put it away in the workshop. I also found a nut and self-tapping screw laying in the bottom of the engine pan

I sent all this info to the Supersportz, including photographs, which started the ball bouncing between the retailer and the importerneither one seeming to take responsibility for any problems. I emailed a detailed list of the parts that were missing or ruined on delivery. The rear winch motor controls are only being held on by electric tape..... The front winch control box is almost the same, but it's electrical-taped onto the frame. Because I wasn't able to hook up a trailer to it because of the proximity of the winch and ball, I took off the back winch trailer hook-up and noticed that the selector knob for free-wheeling the winch was missing.

I'm still having a serious problem with hot engine. On July 6 I drove it for 3 miles at 20-25 mph and shut it off for 3 minutes and the cooling fan stayed on for awhile. When I went to start it up again, it seemed like there was too much resistance for the starter to turn over the engine. So I let it sit for 15 min, and then it started right up.

This has since been the patternit doesn't restart once it's heated. The heat in the cab is unbearable. The thermostat works, circulation is good. But I have all of 59 miles on it for the summer--I basically can't take it out of the yard, in case it won't restart. I have emailed and phoned the retailer and Odes Dominator importer with photos on each new problem.

The importer finally sent a few misc parts (not all that were missing on delivery), but seems to have no idea how to fix the overheating problem

I essentially just have a large garage queen sitting in my shop.

Since I was getting little results from either Tom at Supersportz or the Odes Dominator importer, I had to do something I've never done in my life. I put a stop payment on the unit until they could get this unit as advertiseda functional, running UTV. Tom at Supersportz had talked to me saying he would pay no more than $300 labor to try to figure out the problem. I asked him to put that in writing, and after I filed my stop-payment, I got an email stating that he would pay $300, and to send back the temperature sensor, ECU, and the alternator. What should've happened was that he would contact alocal mechanic in my area and work with him to get my unit up and running. After months of dealing with him and the Odes dealer, I cannot trust any thing that they say. Their actions do not match their words.

I have found out that the overheating is a common problem with Dominator 800s. It is not an electrical problem, but that some people have put, out of their own pockets, up to 3 fans on the motor and radiator. I emailed both Odes and Supersportz, questioning how the ECU, sensor and
alternator that they wanted to send back would fix the overheating problem. I have not had a response from either.

I'm sorry that I ever got involved with these 2 companies and because of their poor product and customer service, I know of at least one lost sale for them, possibly others. Do not buy this unitit has major quality issues and poor to no support.
