Sureway Beneficial Credit Card Scam Ripoff! New York New York

On May I received the same call as everyone else. Since they are preying on those with credit issues it is very easy for them to take advantage. We are already vulnerable and desperate looking for help and they promise a 0% interest, $2000 credit line.

I'm sorry, but I should've, we all should've known better. Credit like that doesn't exist for people like us. But being in the state of desperation I agreed to listen. She had all my information including my social security number. I gave her my drivers license number.

When it came time to process and verify my banking information a little red flag went up and I started to ask more questions. I didn't remember applying for a card with Sureway. I asked if it was a bank. She said no they were just the processing company. Once my account was approved and debited the "local bank" that has approved me for credit would issue the account. She couldn't tell me which bank.

The more questions I asked the more irritated and defensive she got. She did provide me a customer service number listed above. She said they did not have a website and if I put in a search I'd probably not find anything on them because they are a new "non-profit" company helping individuals rebuild my credit. Non-profit... what a load of crap.

Anyway she incouraged me just to call the service number. They would provide me all the information I need however I would need an account number when I called. Well I knew right then she was full of crap. I told her I couldn't give her my bank information until I knew more about them and I didn't want to give it over the phone. I told her to call me back in 10 days so I could think about it.

Well not 5 minutes later I got a call from the same woman, same phone number (not so bright of her) claiming I'd won a sweepstakes to receive free magazines and a laptop computer and would be entered to win more prizes. They would just charge me shipping and handling and for one subscription. They would need my bank account info for that. I hung up. Be careful. If they couldn't get it one way they will try another.
