SUTTELL & ASSOCIATES Wage Garnishment Bellevue, Mercer Island Washington

My problem is my wages are being garnished for a debt that is from 1995. Suttell & Associates has started garnishing my wages on behalf of Unifund CCR. In the garnishment document, it states that I owe over $19,000. There is no statement in these documents from the court, as to what bill they are suing me for, only that it is for Unifund.

Looking up my account on Unifund's website, Mastercard is the only bill they have me listed for, and this card I had at the time only had a $3,000 credit limit. I have contacted other agencies, but it seems that since there is a judgment in place, there's not much I can do.

I presumed that since the bill was so old and I had never responded to Suttell & Associates, nor to Unifund, that there wasn't anything they could do. The Statute of Limitations for creditors (I thought) was 7 years, but this is 13 years old!!!

My mother lives with me and I am being paid as her caregiver, so what I earn goes towards helping to take care of her and household expenses. Taking care of my mother is the only job I have, since I don't want to leave her alone for any extended length of time. My grandson also lives with me, due to circumstances between his father (my son) and his wife. They do not pay child support at this time.

I am granted 127 hours worth of paid care-giving per month, which averages out to be approximately $1,000 per month that I earn for gross wages (also excluding the $272 garnishment). My mother receives Social Security, but she also has to pay an "enrollment fee" to be able to enrolled with this care-giving plan.

I live in H.U.D. housing in Washington and with utility expenses I pay approximately $650 a month in bills (excluding food, gas, clothing, etc.). I have other bills from cancer care I received a few years back and a variety of other bills. I have a toothless smile that I'm trying to fix, a broken car that still needs to be fixed as well, and lots of stress that I'm continually trying to fix.

I'm afraid to pay out any more money unless I know it will help. This is a big problem for me and I am truly hoping someone can help. This whole situation has me seriously stressed and close to tears. Thank you for reading this and please help if you can.
