Sweepstakes Advisor possible ripoff alert Dallas Texas

I received in award letter from the Sweepstakes publishing Clearinghouse in Dallas, texas about a week ago. Without even investigating the situation I sent a $25.00 check to the company. I had no ideal what I would find out. I had sent a check in to purchase a laptop computer. After talking to a friend I was advised to do some research. I found that the computer this company wanted $499.00 for could be purchased in e-bay between $81.00-$260.00. This company gives you a voucher for $400.00 then ask you to pay the remaining cost of the computer. That would make the computer they are selling worth $899.00. This is a big rip off. They make you think you're getting but you're really not. They don't even tell you want operating system you're getting on the computer. You could be getting something as ancient as Windows 95. Anyway once I found out this was a big scam I called the company to cancel my layaway. The young lady who answered the phone advised me that I had signed a contract and I was obligated to pay until I paid them $499.00 for a computer I can easily get on e-bay for less than $200.00. She leet me know that they will continue to draw out of my checking account without my authorization. Even if you decide to cancel the merchandise they are telling you that you can't because you signed a contract. Because of this I will have to notify my bank to stop payment. This com[pany first told me that they couldn't help me until I got an account. Well guess what that's fraudulent too and they are just trying to buy themselves some time. They said they couldn't find an account for me but they had already deducted $25.00 from my account. They are just waiting for another month to go by so they can continue to withdraw from your checking account. Beware!1 these are con-artist. this lady practically told me that I was not going to get my money back regardless of whether I wanted this merchandise or not. If you are desperate for good products go to e-bay and make a bid. They give you a description of what you're getting. Please don't allow these people to rip you off by making you think you've been rewarded, becaause in the end you're really awarding them. Beware this is a Fraud. Any two year old can read right between the lines. Theis people don't even sound professional over the telephone. They are apart of a scam and they know it.
