Hello All, I am a resident on Maui am not at all surprised by reading this report.  I have had an experience w Sylvia Lindig  that I thought readers might find of interest.  I made the mistake of bringing my family to Maui last year and booking them her “Tropical Getaway” listed on VRBO.  First Sylvia Lindig is great to work with leading up to the check or payment.  After that things rapidly decline.  My family arrived at the property which was difficult to access and when we arrived, we found the place rather filthy.  Any attempt to work this out w Sylvia results in a terse or hostile response.  The property has very limited furniture and as a result is very uncomfortable.  The list of complaints about the property that my parent commented on was significant.  Never again will I book this property and would warn others as well.  As an aside, the scoop here on Maui is that the property is in foreclosure anyway.  It is ironic because once the bank takes this over, her own vacation rental permit will be invalid because the bank will be the new owner.   One more thing, when you leave the property Sylvia Lindig will hit you with whatever additional charges she can think of – energy surcharges and additional cleaning fees.  She will also attempt to accuse you of having more than the contracted number of guests and try to charge you for that as well.  Save yourself the time and expense and check into a hotel.
