I went the to the store to get a movie for me and my wife, and on the way out I saw this young girl with raggetty looking clothes that I have never seen in our complex before. When I get back to the house I see the same girl in the house that I saw when I left. I WAS FURIOUS. (Later i find out from my wife that she asked to come in and asked for tylenol because she had a headache).

My wife felt sorry for this girl and let her in our house! Then this girl starts telling us that since we changed our minds and didnt want to pay her any money, that she would be charged for the slip that she filled out. She said that she would be charged $211 dollars for the filled out form that was going to be cancelled.

My wife felt bad for her and had the check already written out. She made us feel bad for her and told us that the subscription was for her to win a trip to Europe, and that she would get more points if we gave her cash. She would get partial points if we gave her the check and then cancelled later. She said that we would get a call from someone verifing that we authorize the check. She also said that the company was open on saturday. NONE OF THIS IS TRUE.

I read on the rip off report that other people posted, that the number doesnt work even during normal business hours and days of the week. After reading the small print on the reciept you have to send in writing a request to cancel within 3 days... and by the time you get that sent in the mail to Colorado the check is already been deposited. It also stated that there will be a $20.00 cancellation fee on the back of the slip! (I dont know how they will send you $20.00 bill to cancel if you stop payment on the check.? But regardless... i figured i shouldnt leave out any details.)

I am going to pursue this legally.... After reading about the little girl that picked out the turtles and never got them, and then reading about the man that out of the goodness of his heart and willing to do something nice for another human being was scammed, and now my wife being taken advange of! There is no way that i am going to just let this slide. If any of you that are reading this have had this same thing happen to you, or if you have heard of this company, please send me any information you have. Address, phone number, names... anything that will help me in filing a lawsuit against the. Since you cannot serve papers to a PO Box i will need a actual mailing address, or physical address.

Please help so that this doesnt happen again! It is not right to have young boys and girls go out and pray on the goodness of people that work hard for their money and family... to then have their money stolen from them by a company that uses children to do their dirty work.

Please send any information you have by creating an account and responding to this post...

Girl door to door sell magazines from SYN, INC

AUTHOR: Ning - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, July 02, 2010

This is happened to me few weeks ago, my husband was answering the door when I was in the bathroom. The conversation was took about 45 minutes, I wanted to see what was going on but i was to busy in the bathroom to finish cleaning. When the girl left, I asked my husband what it was all about, he  told me it was non profit organization and the girl trying to win the race of some short. He was never told me that he gave the girl money. Later on, he told me that the girl will send him a magazine???. but never come. I called my bank few weeks  later, unfortunetly it was too late, and the transaction has been cleared. I was furious as well with this scamm and my husband who stupid enough to give mONEY TO STRANGER....

I searched this company online and found the number but it was an oil company's number and he said he does not know anything what I was talking about.

I will continue to investigate this and follow this report see if anyone can get hold of this scammer.

It Happened To Me Tonight Too!

AUTHOR: Sucker In PA - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, May 05, 2010

Wow, I just wrote a check for $71 for a 2 yr subscription! I feel like a sucker. . . First the subscription was $48 then he said he made a mistake and it was $56 but with the S&H of $15 it totaled $71.  Something just didn't feel right so I Googled SYN, Inc and found this site.  Randy Meeks was the "college kid" that was in Harrisburg, PA from Oaklahoma.  Looking to raise money to go to Europe on a trip. . . Everything mentioned in the other reports were the same. . ."double points for cash", "sticker on the door". He suggested that I write 2 checks from 2 different accounts for 2 magazines, "triple points". . . . I think I'll call the bank tomorrow and see if I can stop payment on the check and then IMMEDIATELY mail my cancellation. I should have been more careful . . . at least I didn't leave the room or give him the chance to steal anything. . . I can only hope my checking account info is as safe tomorrow.

It happened to me...tonight

AUTHOR: Melx2 - (United States of America)

POSTED: Sunday, April 18, 2010

I am in Temecula and I just had two boys (Mitch Duncan and Kevin Wright) come to my door saying that they were going into the military but needed to finish up some schooling first and were doing this to win a trip to Italy before they enlisted. The one boy said he was joining the Air Force and inquired about my military affiliation. We even chatted a bit about the military. They said my contributions would send deployed troops magazine subscriptions and I would get proof of delivery and blah blah. The first thing I said was, give me a number...tell me how much this is going to cost. They said it would be $2 an issue, so I figured under $30. But when he gave me the receipt it was $57! I said No. He told me that it included shipping and handeling. So, I went with it.He said my check wouldn't be cashed until 14 days later so I could cancel at any time. He said the cotact info was on the back and would write the website on the receipt. After I gave him a check my stomach started to hurt...I knew something wasn't right. Then he handed me the receipt and wished me a blessed evening and went along his way. I called the number to check if it was real..it rings to an ambigous answering maching...customer service is closed. They I got online and only saw "SYN scam" reports. Then I read the rest of the fine print...they are not military affiliated and my check will be cashed immediately! I cant wait until my bank opens so I can cancel the check. It says there is a minimum $20 service fee if a check is not good! So does that mean they gain access to your account? Either way, I'm going to change my account number too. Then it says to allow 150 days to receive subscriptions on the back. On the from it says 120 days! I went out to look for the boys but couldn't find them. They put a sticker on my door so that no one else would come by...lame excuse. I'm taking the sticker off so I can confront the next person!

Since we are local...Let me know if you do proceed with legal action! I'd gladly share my story. Its a shame that these kids dont realize the damage they are doing! I will NEVER buy anything from some that comes to my door, even if its a girl scout selling cookies!
