Synapse Ventures, Inc. Magazine Subscription Scam Salt Lake City, Utah

I received a postcard from a group called Synapse Ventures verifying a series of 3 magazines I supposedly subscribed to.  This company is connected with the notorous Harris connect that publishes member "directories" for various organizations and includes subscriptions with any directory order.  
To cancel the subscriptions, Synapse Ventures lists an 800 number.  When you call to cancel, the automated voice asks for your account number printed on the postcard.  When you repeat the number, you hear, "I'm sorry, but I can't hear you."  When you say the number again, you get the same response.  This outfit as well as its partner, Harris Connect are major scammers.  Never agree to anything with these people.  
I asked for a refund on the directory I originally ordered and am still waiting for my money.
