Scam or Not? They are lying to you and there has been many reports about this company on the internet.Previous Synergy Management in Mountain View and Now calledSynergy Expansion in San Jose.

I read other reviews since 2006 about this company and they still use the same "hiring ads" model to recruit MLM / Direct Sale Agents. It's definately not the "Entry Level Management" Position as they lured you in.

You get the same day interview, you are specially chosen for the 2nd interview the same day, you have 2nd interview with other 30 people, you are warned not to talk with other candidates about the 2nd interview results to simply prevent them to find out that there's no selection process at all and basically you are "ALL HIRED" by the regional manager's careful screening.

I am a busy mom who had worked for mroe than 10 years as a real "branch manger" with otherreputabal and REALcompanies and responded to their ads to get back to work after few years of break. It didn't take me long time to figure out that they are lying and not telling the truth, SCAM or not.

The reason why I am spending my time even to write this report is because of a very nice recent college graduate who was very confused after the 2nd interview and asked me few questions since i looked older and professional, who would know better according to her. She was desperate to get hired and willing to take a chance to show up for the next step..ORIENTATION. I have seen many young and impressionable people like her in the room who couldn't even tell if these guys are telling the truth or not. I almost felt responsible to write this report to help young and desparate graduates to make the wise decision about their future.

Only thing I told her is :

"It's your career and your choice and I am not telling you to do it or not, and I have no intention to call any business a SCAM or not. But only thing I can tell you is that they are lying and not telling the truth. I don't know why if they have nothing to hide no matter how glamourous or how pitiful the job will be. But they shouldn't lie to people or mislead the candidates. And here is how i know that they are lying.

1. I am always early for the appointment and saw many people walking in for the first interview from the parking. For their usual 2:00pm same day interview, I have seen all sorts of good enough 20 people. They were all "carefully chosen" for the 2nd interview.

2. When some 30 some people was waiting for the 3 hr group 2nd interview, the receptionist got the inquiry call and looked nervous a little, discretely looked around the room full of 30 people who made the cut to the 2nd interview, and said loudly, " All the management position is filled and we only have one receptionist posision available." I have seen relief and pride on many young peoples face knowing that they got lucky and made before the position is closed. When I walked out of the never-heard-of 3 hour group 2nd interview, the same receptionist was on the phone luring another candidate for an interview for "entry level management position", saying a different story only after 2 hours of "the same position closed" and I coudn't understand how this is possible when all 30 interviewers got "carefully selected."

3. The, so called, regional manager's numbers weren't real and ridiculous from person's view point who actually did the books for the "Branch". He claimed that every branch manager should hit the sales goal of $325 per day, which equals to $6500 a month. He did math fast as Math Wiz to deduct all the expenses to show what's the profit before the branch manager's salary. What I found out very funny, as somebody who used to run the branch , was that there was no deduction in his equasion to show Cost of Goods Sold nor 6-8 Employee Payroll that the new branch managers will get to train and evaluate. Red Flag went in my mind then...since those two are the biggest chunk of the expense in REAL OPERATING Branch.

4. When we were called by the manager and heard a good news about all three of us are selected without any one-on one 2nd interview, I could tell that this manager's office was totally "STAGED" and not a real working office. The personal photos of manager was displayed facing the guest chairs, (usually they are facing the executive chair of the person who is working in the office) and so were the Christmas cards from the satisfied customer, vendors, adn employees. (Who is she trying to impress?) And there was not stack of PAPERs on her desk as in real world offices. I knew then that this is some kind of a SCAM.

So, the young and desparates, please be careful and make the wise decision.

It's your career decision and I can't tell you to go for it or not, but all I know is that they are lying and not telling the truth, you are not "carefully chosen one",and you probably not going to get what you thought you would get. But if you have no education and no qualification and willing to do anything.. including perfume peddling as in some comments, Multi-Level-Marketing, and Direct Sales.. this may work out for you. Good luck!

First of all, i am in training with this company, i'm about to open up my OWN business in a few weeks and all i have to say is nothing but positivity toward this company, i don't get why anyone would say this is a scam or a ripoff, are you all so negative that you people have nothing else to do but to try and ruin other peoples lifes and write negative comments, trying to spread your own fake version about the company? obviously you guys failed or didn't like how someone was running there office, got your feelings hurt or just didn't try at all, etc

btw not everyone runs there businnes he SAME way as others... just EXCUSES, work hard first, success will follow. btw for everyone that thinks its a "scam", usually companys will ask you to pay right out of your pocket and UP FRONT to exceed in training, for example If you just got a new job your boss will tell you that you need to wear certain clothes that you probably don't have, thats more money wasted on nothing, now lets talk about a "pyramid scam", you usually can't earn more money than your boss, again they are more likely to ask for money just to take some test that doesn't even apply to you, then to get started its gonna cost you $$$,  so on and so on etc,

i didn't have to pay a single DOLLAR when i first started, all i had to do was bring a great attitude and wanting to work, THAT'S IT! i have been reading the comments and it sounds like the blind leading the blind one person has something to say, then another person follows then another then it just becomes a cycle of you guys commenting about what you think you know and following everyones wrong discriptions. 99.9% of you have no real valid facts, you people feed off of others negativity. its very easy to follow the crowd but the minute you guys heard negative things from your friends, your family, your parents, or just the stupid internet comments "don't do it, its a SCAM" you will be tricked!,

you then decided to follow along with those ignorant people. if you stayed in the program instead of listening to other people then who knows how far you could have gone,. the beauty about our business is you work for YOURSELF in your OWN office, your salery isn't LIMITED you can make as much as 6 figures or even more within your first year! all wonderful people in the business that want to be successful and do nothing but encourage.  i agree it is to good to be true, that's why i love it. don't take advice from broke and negative people, find out for yourself and do it for yourself. what do you have to lose? anyways this company is the BOMB and I LOVE IT!!!

How much did they charge you to start?  I HATE Pyrimads.  I'm all about warning others of pyrimad schemes or MLMs.  Would you please give us the info how much they charged you?  If they didn't charge you then it's not a pyrimad.  My guess would be they are a marketing company who have a contract or a subcontract with an energy company.  They probably contracted you.  Did you sign an IC agreement along with a W9?  If that that's the case you should have asked when you signed those papers.  Why you weren't signing a W4 or W2.  That's just negligence on your part.  Marketing companies do that all the time. Every marketing company has a tier system.  I used to work with a cable company similar to this situation.

Oh and the 1200 doors.  C'mon.  that's just silly.  It's mathematically impossible to see 1200 doors in a day.  Let alone from 12 to 5.  You would have to see 60 doors an hour per person out of a car of 4.    I used to do door to door with Comcast a few years back and I know one thing, that 100 people = 90 no's and 10 yes.  That's sales 101.  Law of Averages has been around for years.  But I don't like how they didn't give you that W9 or IC agreement info.  Was that supplied?  If it was then your negligence was the problem.  No IC in the world gets an hourly wage.  Why didn't you just ask, "Hey! How much do I get paid an hour?" Regardless of no Q&A session... why didn't you just ask the manager privately?  "How much am I getting paid an hour?" Wouldn't that have allieved you of this heartache?

I'm also curious.  $8 per enrollment? It sounds like they have a subcontract and they are NOT the master agent. But then they set you up with an office?  When does that happen?  How much does that cost you? If they are paying for the office then that's not a scam at all.  It's a trade off. That's where all the money is going then.  Which is actually kinda of smart since more offices means probably more reps in the field. But if you do not get that office....well that's just a big time scam.

Please respond.  We want more info!  Basically I just want to know if they give you an office to set up with out you paying for it.  If that's the case then that's potentially a profitable system.  I NEVER heard of a marketing company setting people up in their own offices in that type of scale.  I would guess that they probably have to make it much more apparent that people in training will be ICs.  But then again, who knows.  Working for my current company. I get consumer complaints all the time where they just don't even read what's in front of them. It's comical.

Anyone else have any solid evidence that this company is an actual scam? Anyone respond who has completed their "Training"

Synergy Management - Mt. View

Synergy Expansion - San Jose (Koll Circle)

Now: Bay Area Energy Solutions [or close to that because they changed it between my interviews and start date {1 month}]

I read the report and decided there was not enough information to make a truly informed decision so I stuck with it to hear all the breakdowns and this is what I have to share/report.

After the 2-part interview process as previously stated in the initial RipoffReport.com submission there is:

1) Monday - Orientation: This is the point when they say "YOU WILL BE PAID WEEKLY" (ask about hourly rate or salary - it is $8 commission per dor-2-door sale made but they do not say that until Wednesday). They also ask for 150% from you broken down as: Attitude=95%, Hardwork=5%, Luck/Skill=1%, Blind Faith=1%, Honesty=48% (less than 1/3 honest is what set off the alarm in my ethically hardwiring). Then they proceed to go over policies without any Q&A period. Really, an orientation without a Q&A period?

2) Tuesday - Day of Observation: Go to the office and meet all the excited employees who are desperate and blind to what is happening (I told them about the >ripoffreport< and many listened. I did not push/pull anyone, just provided information that was being strategically withheld by the ‘regional managers’). Tuesday you may also hear them say "don't listen to everyone at home who is 'negative' they are just jealous (where this may be true for young people who have min wage "f**k it" jobs... my friends did say "sounds like a scam," they are top level tech salesmen, KPMG senior accountants, ex-Oracle executives and a few angel investors; needless to say they are not negative friends because negativity gets you nowhere in the business world).

3) Training Line: This day was where I made my decision that the TRAINING ASPECT IS A SCAM (Pyramid - $16/enrollment, office gets $8 & you get $8)... however, they do set you up in your own office after training so from a 'textbook legal standpoint' it is not a PYRAMID (but your CAREER will be based around SCAM-TRAINING other aspiring young professionals). Tuesday you will also go into the field and go door to door from about 12noon-5pm, and you are told to "work the law of averages" (they define as: see 100ppl and about 10-20 will enroll... this number is extremely inaccurate, my car of 4ppl visited over 1200 residences that day and we enrolled a whopping total of 9ppl). Tuesday is also the day where they will give you your levels of training (promotions are every Tues/Sat - I don't know about you but I’ve never been promoted that fast anywhere). The levels of TRAINING are: Trainee, Trainer, Senior Trainer, Manager, Senior Manager, and Executive. All this means is that you slowly learn all dimensions of their scam and the greed inside you gets excited, if you have any doubts at all leave now. If you do not leave I suggest that you live with a; boyfriend/girlfriend/spouse/family/friends who will provide free housing because an $8 commission will not pay any real life expenses.

That’s all there is... if you want to make less than min wage, walk mile after mile, and knock on doors till your knuckles start to crack (an "old dog" from training showed me his hands) then this is exactly the job for you. However if you are like me then QUIT NOW AND GET A REAL JOB THAT WILL NOT HIDE INFORMATION FROM YOU FOR A WEEK.

I spent 20 hours working/training and got a paycheck of $8... do the math, you will make more money anywhere else and your ethical conscious will be clean (no $ substitute for that, in case you didn't know). GOODLUCK WITH YOUR DECISION.

I am sorry you wasted all that time trying to figure out Synergy Expansion. You don't understand and will never understand what really goes on because you are another skeptic that didn't do the business. You came in for a 1st interview? And a 2nd? Did you go to an Orientation? Yes to all three? If so great. What about...did you make it to your first day of training? 1st week? 1st month? 1st year? I think it's safe to say you did not. You do not know what you are talking about and the information you are providing is what you think you saw and what you think you know. If you answer the ad and make it through the interviews and then keep a great attitude while going through training, stay loyal to those teachin you the business. You will find that it is not a scam at all....I cannot speak about other offices but I can talk to you about my story and my relationship to Scentura Creations...Hello my name is Leticia and I run a deal with my partner Nathan in Maryland. I just wanted to say thank you to Larry Hahn for my opportunity. Success with this business is not about just answering the ad and then becoming a millionaire overnight. Just like any other business, you have to earn what you make. I went through training in Middlesex New Jersey. Donny and Holly are the owners of the branch location there. They have been in the business over a decade now and I can proudly say I am one of those owners that completed the training program and is now one of their promotions. This is my first year as an owner and my income is 6 figures. No I did not have talent or experience when I started. I just had an open mind and stayed the week to understand the business. If you come in for one interview and then quit....or you make it to the 2nd interview and then quit...or lets say you make it all the way through to Wednesday. We still haven't explained the business all the way. People that write negative reports about Scentura and Larry and anyone else are either people that do not understand the opportunity or just aren't willing to admit to the fact that they did not have what it takes to run a successful business. Successful being the key term there. Because there are some people that made it through training and got open into their own deals and failed and try and blame everyone else but themselves. If I fail it is not Larry's fault or Donny's. I am an independent contractor. The office building that I am in is registered and licensed under my partners name not Larry's not Donny's. So if our office doesn't do a good job that is no one fault but mine. If you start the business and quit that is no ones fault but your own. If you were fired from the business that is no ones fault but your own. Disloyal people do not make it far in this business. Negative people do not make it far in this business. Scentura is not a SCAM. And if it is THEY SCAMMED ME ALRIGHT!! I answered and ad that told me I would be an Ast. Mgr and now I am running my own business. Did I mention I am a college drop out from New York University? All my friends graduated this year and they have no jobs. Thanks to this opportunity I am self employed. I am also happy to say that I have two promotions that went through my training program and are open and making their own money now. This is the greatest business to be in. Not only do you work for yourself but you can make more money by passing a long the opportunity. Maybe the problem is that we aren't selective. We accept anyone. Uneducated people, people with backgrounds, people on probation, people from any race, age, religious belief.....maybe that is the reason so many people have comments on the business. Anyone is given the opportunity. There are no requirements. Maybe the problem is we offer for our people to make money while going through training. Maybe we should start charging them and call it SCHOOL. Anyways, hopefully this helps someone out that is still going through training and facing a lot of negativity at home or from others trying to quit the business and telling you that you should quit with them. I didn't quit with everyone else. They are still broke while Im running my own business making my own hours. Don't take financial advice from broke people. If you take everyones advice you make their mistakes as well.
