I was contacted by Synergy in May 2009 and told that they specialize in obtaining grants and loans in the public and private sector. They said that they knew all the ins and outs that make an application succeed. I told them that I wanted to apply for a Department of Energy (DOE) grant that I thought we were qualified to receive. They said to send them a check for $6300 and they would ge started.
It took me about two weeks to complete my part of the business plan.I had downloaded the Federal Opportunity Announcement (FBO) and read it several times. They are very specific regarding the information to be presented and proper format to use in the application.
Synergy's Service Agreement said they would teach me the application process and how to prepare a formal funding proposal. The business plan I received was a copy of my business plan and my financials processed with a impressive graphing package that presented no real information. The application did not meet the grant requirements for consideration. I received an email from Kris stating she was furnishing the business plan and not an application. She said if I wanted an application, I should contact my funding coach. Nobody seemed that was. I was passed from one to another in hopes that I would quit. I have in business for 40 years. I don't quit! I want a full refund now!

I am responding to your request for more contact information to identify my file. I paid Synergy $6,300 in May 2009 to help me prepare a grant application to the Department of Energy. The DOE deemed my application as "non-responsive" because it did not follow their guidelines. I paid the $6300 to make sure it did follow guidelines and would get a fair review.
I want my $6300 back now.
