System & Services Technologics, Inc. Charging my credit with non payment when they sent bill to the wrong address. Saint Louis Missouri

In 2005 I bought a vehicle from Ebay. The cost was $3000.00 with payments automatically deducted directly from my checking account. After 3 years the debits for the vehicle stopped being deducted from my account and I assumed that the vehicle was paid off. Apparently PayPal needed another 56.00 to complete the payoff but did not draw the funds out. Without ever attempting to contact me they turned the account over to SST for collections.

SST said that they tried to collect the funds by emailing me and calling me on the phone but I never received a single call or letter until my mother received a bill where SST was trying to bill my father for the vehicle( which would have been difficult since he died 26 years ago). I called and asked if I was the one that they were looking for and they said yes. I asked the total who and what I owed and after they told me I said I would send it to them if they would remove the notice they placed on my credit rating saying that I was more than 90 days late on 2 occasions.They agreed and I paid off the bill in March 09. After that I saw where the remarks were still on my credit report. I tried on 2 occasions prior to today to contact them about removal of these items and was transfered to various people but still promised the bad marks would be removed, but it never was.

Today I tried again to call. It took 5 attempts to try to gain a credit disput supervisor. 2 times I was sent to the company mailbox system. Once connected to someone who told me that "he was not the one I needed to speak to". Another time I was told by recording that "this is not a valid number". Finally on the 5th try I spoke with someone that stated that they were not going to remove the credit remarks because "a supervisor reviewed my case and saw that I had been sent several letters, emails, and calls". I told her that they may have sent the letters but they didnt go to me,they sent them to 127 Mullins School Street in Pikeville Kentucky where my father lived 26 years ago. I live in Houston Texas and havent lived in KY since 1991. She then said it didnt matter that the mail service would forward my mail from KY to Houston. I said that for the first 6 months after moving they will forward mail. Since I left 18 years ago I dont get much mail these days from KY. She continued to tell me it was my fault that I didnt pay and the mark would stand on my credit even though they were sending the bills to the wrong place.

I then told her that I wanted to speak with a credit dispute supervisor. I finally was transferred to a voicemail systm where I left a message. That was 11:00 today and no one has attempted to contact me yet. After the callous attitude I received today from their operator, I have little hope that this blemish will be removed from my record and I will be considered guilty in spite of explaining that it was their mistakes that prompted this affair.It is a shame that such an organization such as this with their slipshod workmanship can influence someones credit despite seeing evidence of anothers innocence and my having no recourse. Guilty until proven innocent,regardless of evidence to the contrary
