T MOBILE CHARGING TEXT MESSAGING FEES WITHOUT MY CONTROL ripoff DALLAS Texas
*Consumer Suggestion: Can NOT disable t-mobile text messages

T mobile continues to charge .15 per text messaging even when I did not even ask for it or open the text. There has to be a CLASS ACTION lawsuit against cell companies like T Mobile for doing this. Look at the easy possibility of abuse to customers. One t mobile text per customer could add up to hundreds of thousands of dollars if not more.
This is absolutely ridiculous and a ripoff. Somebody please help SUE them from doing this.

Can NOT disable t-mobile text messages

The link below shows you that you CAN NOT DISABLE text messages and it was taken from the t-mobile site. But you can setup a filter(s) to block everyone that has a "@" in the "From:" or create multiple filters to reject any with a 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 .... in the "From:", I did the same with each vowel which should stop pretty much everything. The instructions to create filters is in the same link.

How do I block all incoming and outgoing texts?
The text messaging feature on your account is a mandatory feature and cannot be removed due to system requirements. This feature is needed because it is where:
* Voice mail notifications are delivered.
* Billing notifications are delivered.
* In case of emergency, text messages can be sent or received with minimal coverage.
* Over-The-Air (OTA) updates are delivered. These are crucial system and network updates.

You are incorrect, all cell phone providers can disable text messaging capabilities. All companies send texts to their clients, but trust me, I've had Cingular, TMobile and Verizon and I've had text functionality removed from all of them

Unfortunately that's not an option. T-Mobile does not have the ability to remove text messaging from an account. It is used to communicate with the phones such as sending a voice mail indicator to the phone or over the air updates to the phones.
The only thing you can really do is tell people to stop sending text messages to you. As for children, I'm of the belief that if your children aren't responsible enough to obey your wishes to not send text messages, they aren't responsible enough to have a cell phone.

Have T-Mobile remove Text Messaging capabilities from your account...

First, let me preface this by saving that I do not have T-Mobile (I have Cingular instead), but T-Mobile most like provides a similar choice.
After my teenage daughter ran up 30+ dollars of text messages in a month on my wife's cell phone, I called Cingular and had them disable text messaging for the two phones on my account. I can neither send nor receive text messages on either phone - therefore, no text-message related charges.

Tell your friends to stop texting you! It's in your contract, .15 per text message unless you pay a monthly fee for unlimited text messages.
