I bought a Tag Heurer watch at Little Switzerland in Nassau, Bahamas in April 2013.  In November 2013 when it was time to change the time due to Daylight Savings, Iunscrewed the crown and pulled it out gently.  When I did that, the entire crown came out of the watch with the stem attached.  I then took the watch to an authorized Tag Heuer dealer, Aires Jewelers in Parsippany, NJ.  They advised that it would cost $175 to fix the watch as the crown was an exterior part and was not covered under warranty.  I then called Tag Heurer.  I spoke to a representative who reiterated that the crown was not covered.  I advised the representative that I wanted to talk to a district manager.  A few days later, a supervisor called me who then again told me that the crown was not covered.  I tried to explain to this person that I own two other Tags and I knew how to unscrew the crown before pulling it to change the time.  I tried to explain that since the crown is attached to something inside the watch, it was like debating what came first, the chicken or the egg.  She kept telling me that the crown was broken off and therefore not covered.  I questioned that, as the crown came out of the watch with the stem attached.  She jusst kept repeating that I broke the crown off the watch.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  Nevertheless, I could not make headway or get her to understand that it was not just the crown involved.

When I picked up my watch from the jeweler and paid, I received a little plastic bag with just the crown inside.  The stem was not included.  It is very clear to me that Tag Heuer purposely broke the stem from the crown so that they could say it was my "misuse/abuse" that caused the problem.  When something is repaired, a client is supposed to get the old parts in a bag so that the consumer knows new parts were put in the watch.  All I got was the crown and not the stem.  I advised the jeweler of this.  In addition, Tag Heuer's warranty is as follows:"The limited warranty does not cover bracelets, crystals or batteries, or any damage to the case or movement caused by moisture that might have entered the watch as a result of improper handling, nor does it apply, on a more general basis, if there is evidence of misuse or abuse.  It is very clear to me that this limited warranty isn't worth the paper it is printed on.  The catch phrase "misuse or abuse" is so vague and ambiguous as to give Tag Heuer the liberty to deny all repairs under warranty simply by saying it was "misuse or abuse."  I DID NOT misuse or abuse my watch in any fashion.  It was 7 months old and the first time the time needed to be changed.  I ABSOLUTELY BELIEVE that Tag Heuer deliberately broke the stem from the crown when they received the watch for repair.  I ABSOLUTELY KNOW AND SAW WITH MY OWN EYES, that the jeweler put the crown, with the stem attached, in a clear plastic bag for transport to Tag Heuer in Springfield.  I feel that as a repeat customer I should not have been treated the way I was by Tag Heuer.  It is clear to me that Tag Heuer does not stand behind its product and I will NEVER buy one again.
