Steven Mango at Talent Mailings, LLC did not complete the work that I paid for.  I ordered a package from his website for which I paid for in advance.  All services were not rendered.  He only completed a portion of the work.

I am an actress & I signed up for the 3 month Co-Star package (which can be seen on his website).  This package was supposed to include quite a few services.  I was friendly with Steven before signing up for his services & trusted that he would do a great & complete job for me.

Things started out pretty well despite great delays from the start due to Steven planning for his wedding.  He did give me an extra two weeks worth of service & extra submissions to agents & managers due to the delays.  He also added extra submissions due to the fact that he does not submit on Actors Access or LA Casting for actors anymore which still listed in the package on his website.  No problem.  He also said that since I was his friend that he would submit my electronic submissions to his master list.  I thought that this was very nice of him at the time & thanked him. I did not think that it would result in him not completing the services that I paid for.

There were few couple of mistakes made during the process as well such as the mailing went out a day before we agreed that the mailings would go out which was not a good day for me time wise to have to start responding to the agent/manage interest coming in. There were major glitches with the resume which I was to print out & bring to him with my headshot. I had to enlist my boyfriend to help with the formatting which took a couple of hours to get straight!  Also, at least 10 of the hardcopy mailings came back to me.  I just figured that since the mailings were supposed to be tailored specifically to agents & managers that were looking for my type that the addresses had been checked before mailing them since I spent an additional amount that is not included in the package for postage. I understand that a few may come back, but it just seemed like more than normal to me.  At the time this frustrated me, but I dismissed it since we are all human & mistakes happen.

Steven did do a great job with the first part (the actual agent & manager mailings) & as a result I got a great team.  However as the process went on, it became increasingly difficult to get a hold of Steven.  There were long gaps with no communication despite my attempts to get a hold of him.

There was supposed to be a postcard mailing that was to go out once per month for 3 months.  I asked about this many times.  I was told that once I secured my agent/manager that he would have the postcards designed & do the mailing.  It's seems to me that the postcards could have been designed, but not printed early on so that they would be ready to go when the time was right.  In any case, once I secured my agent & manager I asked again when the postcard mailings would take place as the point was to announce my new agent & manager, hence the timing was critical.  I'd also told my manager that the first once would be going out soon.

At the time I was friends with Steven on Facebook & I noticed that he seemed to have the time to travel as well as go gambling.  I did not understand why he could not put the work into a package that I had long since paid for.

After weeks & weeks of trying communicate with Steven he sent me a text saying "Hey ---! Thank you for the review - and I have you covered! I still need to find a great graphic designer. I'm looking around. I am in 2 college classes, editing a feature length documentary, auditioning, Talent Mailings... Got a lot on my plate but I promise you are my #1 priority!"

Hmmm.  Really?

In any case, he agreed that the postcards would go out in November, January & February.  That was at the end of October.  I waited a week to see if he'd contact me with the news that he'd started work on them & at least had a proof, but I never heard.  It took me another two days to get a hold of him at which time he stated in a text message -- "I'm sorry!!  Been juggling a lot between 2 jobs, acting, college, traveling, etc.  I'll refund a portion of the $$ back to you, if it makes it easier, since I have so many things going on right now."

I agreed to a partial refund.  I wanted it to be fair for both of us.  I tried to find out how much he thought was fair, but he would not state it.  He just asked how much I wanted back.  I finally just calculated what percentage of the work that had not been done base on the price that I paid on his website to come up with a total of $450.  I asked what he thought & he said that he could do $300.  I asked if we could split the difference at $375 in light of the delays & mistakes.  He seemed to become insulted with this & said that now he would give NO REFUND.  I asked if he would then complete the work. He said that there would be NO REFUND & that he would not complete the work either.

He said that his package was far more valuable than what I paid (I paid stated price on his website by the way) & that he had done extras for me, so therefore he wasn't going to do anymore work.

To me this is very shocking.  So instead of doing what was stated in the package.....what I PAID for...  Steven decided to throw in a couple of extras that he was supposedly being nice by doing & then NOT render the remainder of the services that I paid for!!!  I don't see how you can change the package midstream to suit your needs.

I've certainly done favors or gone above & beyond in more than one job that I've had, but I didn't then tell the person that was paying me that I wasn't going to complete some of the tasks that I was hired to do because I threw in a favor or did extra work.  Can you imagine?  I'd be fired in a heartbeat!!!

The story is much longer & I have proof of everything, but I think that those who are interested can get a general idea of what happened here.

To me this is a RIP OFF!!!  It's wrong to charge for services & not render them.  It is wrong to change the package midstream to suit your needs.
