I lived at this park for about 1 and 1/2 years. I remodeled a mobile home and sold it. Decided to buy another trailer in the park which was a 26 ft. I moved in after putting $700 down. I went to use the toilet and the sewage line was not connected even though someone had lived there before me. I told the manager and it was not fixed for 3 weeks! I moved out and would not recommend this place to anyone as the owner just tries to get people to buy non-functional homes on a rent to own basis. In other words, he preys on the poor.

Residents of Tamarisk Park Consensus

AUTHOR: Jinglebolix - (United States)

POSTED: Saturday, July 28, 2018

I live at Tamarisk Park; and, as well as the other residents, I view this park as a great service and a true Blessing for people who would be homeless, in a nursing home, group home, or some similar facility. And, those facilities cost the taxpayers thousands of dollars a month. Many of the park's residents had been homeless, but, thanks to the owner and manager, we now have a home that we can call our own. Most of the people who purchased one of the trailer units are subsiting on SSI, SSDI, or Veterans benefits. Average monthly income would be between $735.-$900. a month. We cannot afford to rent a house, apartment, or similar housing anywhere. Should this park be closed down, the residents would suffer tremendously. The grounds are well kept, and I can walk the short distance to a lagoon that is off the Colorado River. Tourists come here on their vacations to fish, or go dune buggying, a short distance away. The location is, literally, a little piece of Heaven. Residents form a family here, as most of us have no other family left, if one of us has a problem, the others will pitch in without being asked. For a short time, we had someone disconnecting sewer lines so they could charge the resident a fee to fix it, if the manager was on vacation. This no longer happens. Our lot rent is $300. a month, we pay off our trailer $100. a month. Just paying $300. a month for housing, enables us to NOT be a burden on taxpayers, or be homeless, living under a bridge, with no way to stay warm orr stay cool, or cook or refrigerate food. I thank God every day for this park.
