I went through Tapjoy to get 5 credits by downloading and playing Coin Dozer, and to get 17 credits for downloading and playing Slotomania. I reached Level 12 in Coin Dozer, you are only required to reach level 3 to get your credits. I have not received credits for either game, so I sent 2 complaints to tapjoy. They responded claiming that I received my credits. Because I didn't receive them, I emailed them again. They did not respond. I decided to open an account here just to show that they cannot get away with these things. Here are their messages to me:

"Hello Gamer,

Sorry to address you like this as Im unaware of your name.

Our records indicate that you have already been credited for the offer 'Download Coin Dozer and Reach Level 3' with '5 Credits' on 'Apr 07, 2012'.

If you have any questions about this, please let us know.

Their so-called records are lies. If I get my 23 credits, I will happily amend to this report and say that they finally fulfilled their offer.  If the company reads this, these are some questions I have for you:

Question 1: Why can't the system give me the credits AUTOMATICALLY like it's supposed to?

Question 2: Do we have to bother you with emails to get our credits?

Question 3: Do you realize that we, as consumers, do NOT like being told that if we do A, we will get B, and never receive B?

Question 4: Was your company just hoping that we would do these things and not mind not getting reimbursed?

And I fully know why games like Coin Dozer and Slotomania need these promotions for people to download these games. It's because these so called "games" are NOT fun.

I should be compensated for the time I put into playing these games.

I can't even imagine how horrible it would be if I actually gave them my credit card number to buy their different products. I have seen on this site that they scammed people for hundreds of dollars, and also put people on automatic billing cycles.

This site is a complete scam in every way possible.

I hope to get my 23 credits, but I will NEVER use my money on them.

By the way, I'm sure the names they give are fake. I'm also sure that by the time enough complaints come in, they will shut down tapjoy and just make a new company under another name, and scam people again.

So go on being crooks. Or give me my 23 credits, you liars.

Just another amendment

I had a few more issues with not receiving my credits in the game, Small Street. This is after I put Tapjoy in my phone.

I wanted to take this time to say, that after all my experience with these issues, is that Tapjoy, does not seem to be the culprit. I want to right my wrong in my original post by blaming them. They do respond to customer needs, well, at least Saad did. He has made several correspondences with me, unlike the other people. He went out of his way to try to help.

I think the whole phone games / Android apps thing is still relatively new, and there are SO MANY of them out there, that it's difficult to regulate. Tapjoy deals with promotion of other games as well as the money aspects. Lately, I haven't received my credits in my games, Saad tried to help put them in himself, but it didn't work. At the same time, my game, Small Street, has been very glitchy, freezing a lot, with my hard-earned citizens disappearing left and right.

These are problems that will probably exist for a very long time. As long as there are flaws in programming, it will happen. I think Tapjoy has done its best to help me, Saad offered to give me credits in other games I might play (I do not play any though). I imagine if a person used REAL MONEY and paid for coins on Tapjoy, and it did not work for the game no matter what, Tapjoy would offer the credits for another game like they did here.

These android games just aren't as cut and dry as a PS3 game, for example. You don't buy a disc and have everything working perfectly. I read a lot of complaints in the Tapjoy forums about people not getting what they paid for. I also read a lot of complaints on the Small Street forum about their games not working, shutting down, or everything erasing. The game's instability, I believe, affects the player receiving their credits.

Overall, I do not blame Tapjoy anymore. Due to Saad's dedication to trying to help me out in my situation, I think they are a good company. He should get an "Employee of the Month" thing or something at work. Haha.

For me, it would be very difficult to shell out real life money for these games because of the flaws in the overall system. But considering all of it, I believe Tapjoy is doing their very best to alleviate the problems. I remember how I hated those automated messages (which I copied and pasted here). But I can imagine how many users are messaging them about missing credits. Everything Android is still very new. I think Tapjoy's employees are doing all they can to help us.

Ok, I hope this clears things up. Ripoff Report is a great place to go to to see if a company is reliable, I just hope everyone reads down to this part!

I received an email tonight saying this:

"do you have an www.tapjoy.com account and if so is your device linked to your account?"

Well, the answer is no, so I went on the site, made an account, linked my phone to it, and when I checked Small Street, voila! The free credits were in there!

Finally, it works exactly as it should.

I believe the trouble wasn't exactly Tapjoy but Small Street. Nowhere in the Small Street game where it allows you to earn credits did it barely mention or insinuate that you have to register with tapjoy, download the app, and connect your phone to them in order for the credits to work. Small Street is extremely light when it comes to directions.

It simply said: "Download this game, get these credits."

Anyway, I am extremely happy with the customer service from Tapjoy. Thank you Saad!

Hi Tim,

I am sorry you didn't get the credits, I credited them to your account myself. I am going to escalate this to the publisher to see why you are not getting credits.

Regards

Saad

Hi Saad,

I received this email this morning:

----------

Hi Tim,

Thank you for writing us back.

I certainly understand your frustration and apologize for the inconvenience caused to you.  I shall be personally handling your issues further on.  As per our records and as informed to your earlier the offers 'Slotomania' and 'Download Coin Dozer and Reach Level 3' have already been awarded to your account from our end.  Once you complete the offer, the credits would be automatically added to your in-game account on Small Street.  We are always working towards giving out the best customer service to our customers.

I have also re-credited your account for both the offers 'Slotomania' with '17 Credits' and 'Download Coin Dozer and Reach Level 3' with '5 Credits'.  You will see the increase in the number of credits next time you log into your game.

Again, I apologize for the inconvenience caused and thank you for choosing Tapjoy.

Regards,

Paul White

Unfortunately, despite them having credited me, I still DID NOT see an increase in my credits. Not a single one.

I know you had your heart in the right place by bringing up wifi issues, but I assure I have been home everyday for the last few days, including today because it's spring break and I am remodeling my home. My phone has been in the same room as my wifi router. I have opened my game and closed my game several times to make sure it will sign on. Even Feint keeps up with my current scores on the game, and that needs internet. I have logged onto my facebook and email with no trouble at all.

I use an Asus Transformer Prime in my house, too. That has no problem connecting on the internet.

My phone, on top of being connected through wifi, has also been connected through 4G.

I use an HTC Evo.

I don't know what else to say. Thank you and your company (Paul White, in this case) for at least RESPONDING to my messages, but at the end of the day, I did not receive my credits. And I literally waited until the end of the day in case it would take a long time for the credits to kick in.

At this point, I'm getting pretty bored with the game anyway, so I don't even care about the credits anymore.

I filed a complaint because it's the principle that counts.

Because really, imagine if I had PAID for your services? I was thinking of actually PURCHASING credits. With a credit card.

But now, PLEASE. I'm sure you would charge me and I would never see those credits. Just like I haven't seen these 23 credits now. If you have an office in New York City, I will gladly bring my phone to you so you can put the credits in, just for peace of mind.

But anyway, as it stands, I do not have the credits. Oh well.
