Ordered a $400 treadmill on-line on 6/11/2011 as a Father's Day gift for my dad. I Thought this would be sufficient time to get the order to him by 6/19/2011 (Father's Day). Upon checking order status on-line, status was "shipping soon to be delivered 6/20-6/24. So the gift was going to be late. Ok, this was just the way it was going to be. I told my dad what it was (surprise ruined) but ok.

Calling customer support to find out where the package was, I was told there were "technical issues and they could not tell me anything". That was on 6/22, 6/23, 6,24, 6/27, and 6/28.
On 6/28 Tanisha said the issue had been resolved but could not tell me where the treadmill was or if it had shipped and would call me back the next day the 29th.

On 6/30/2011 I called once more to speak to the supervisor named Tanisha. Of course she was not available and I was put on hold for 45 minutes. The next supervisor "Claudia" said Tanisha had put in an inquiry that would take 7 days for a responce. So here I sit.

I have never in 50 years seen such horrible service from a compny as big as Target.

Final Update

AUTHOR: mred - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, December 06, 2011

Sorry. My first rebuttal was aimed at the current employee. Total time to receive the product was 2 months. I was offered a $30 gift certificate from a supervisor at corporate that I declined and requested they send to my father as I won't ever be buying from Target.com or Target stores again. When the package arrived it was beaten up but the product was not damaged. My spouse is in retail and I've seen what great customer service is. This was among the worst.

No problem here

I just asked a question, about, "did you receive it" or "get a refund" then I know, how long it takes to receive it, sometimes good sometimes bad. If you do not know, its unimportant. I do not like their Target service, I never buy from them, It can be good or bad, or better or worse.

I went in to the store to buy, yet I'm not allowed to ask questions, will their stocking, their diabolical, their psychopaths, we were their to answer questions, yet bad if we did. If they made mistakes and they sure did, they always found a clever lie, to pretend it was not their mistake.

Therefore I think its amusing, that they think their so smart, and so efficient, yet never thought much of my needs, we were team members, yet not really, because they really do not care, much, about customer service as I did, it truly is possible for them to misunderstand me or others, they prove it, people come and go, by then do people really know what their doing.

We were told, to appear near opening, to stock the shelves while customers were there, to answer question, yet be in trouble for being slow from answering questions, and not stocking the shelves. Their diabolical.

I worked there for over 11 years, if you expect good service, there is chance you will or will not. They are too unreasonable about getting things done. I was near the last person to realize that, because the majority of the people who work there are always new, because their too extreme therefore their only satisfied if you can do it, if you can, they push you to a point, you can not, then get upset, therefore people come and go.

Please read the complaint again as you missed the point.

Tanisha was supposed to call back the following day as I stated. I called 2 days later and she wasn't there. I was upset, not because she took the day off, but because she did not return the call the prior day. The other point you did not read or understand was that I understood the gift would be late. What infuriated me was no one could locate the treadmill, give me a status update, or call the shipping warehouse because according to them "they (warehouse did not have a phone") and it was suppose to be delivered 6/20-6/24. If receiving an order (that was not back ordered) 2 months after purchasing it is ok with you, then you are just as much a part of the problem. You as an employee should apologize about the ordeal as your supervisor did instead of antagonizing the customer. That is RETAIL 101.

What You Need To Remember

AUTHOR: TynanAmur - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, December 06, 2011

You said you ordered the item on the eleventh and expected in on the 19th. No company, unless you buy the item in store, will ship it that fast. With most companies when an order is placed they have a 24-48 hour processing time. That is the time when they look to see if the item is in stock. If the item is not in stock you can be placed on back order and will have it sent when the item comes to the factory. A lot of people assume that when someone orders on Target.com we just go to the closest store and pick the item up. It does not work that way. Now, after the processing time there is an actual packiing and shipping time that can take another 24-48 hours. (And those are business days mon-fri) When the item is actually shipped it goes into the hands of the delivery service. If you order expedited shipping it will be quicker if you go for normal shipping it costs less but takes longer to arrive. Giving them 8 days, 3 of which were non business days, to ship the order.

Also, you are mad about Tanisha not being available. You do know that she gets days off too right. She is not going to be in the office 24/7 just to handle your case. You also have to remember that they do get busy with phone calls because it's one office handling worldwide shipping.

I never bought anything from Target.com yet I wondered how it was with you. Did you get what you needed and when did it come.
