Tau Resorts Nahui/Puerta Vallarta Lost investment in timeshare ripoff La Cruz de Hacienda/Puerta Vallarta Other/Jalisco, Mexico

After about five years of trying to get our money back from Tau Resorts as per our contract, I cannot believe that they are still in business and still stealing money from people. This is a total scam and I cannot believe that the timeshare industry in Mexico is allowing them to continue to operate.

My wife and I have owned timeshares in Mexico for thirty years and never had a problem until we went out to a presentation at Nahui Tau Resorts. We bought in to this beautiful property since we had loved the beach there for years. The development was presale which we had never done before, but the contract read that if the construction was not completed in a year, we would receive our money back.  After one year, little progress had been made so we requested our money back. After five years, there has still been very little progress made and we have not received a penny back.

We went through as many possible avenues to receive our money back as was possible, which included the Mexican government, embassies, courts, etc.  The Mexican regulatory agency for timeshares decided, yes, we should get our money back, however, they had no power to force Tau to pay us (this took about two years for them to come to that decision). We tallked to local attorneys also, but supposedly the main contractor/owner of the company was bankrupt and in a jail in Mexico. We were told that the Mexican government was going to take over the property.

So now, as we enter 2017, I read on the internet about innocent people still being lured into the scam of Tau Resorts. Again, I am amazed that this company is still operated without repercussions as my case  is not isolated. Hundreds of others also lost money as I did, and have tried to get their investment back. Please pass the word so that others do not fall into the trap of Tau resorts.
