No loyalty. Company hires and fires people on a whim. The frequently hire and train new employees for weeks only to let them go after one or two days on the sales floor because it's "not working out." Company has fired numerous employees simply because they voiced some suggestions on how to better improve productivity. They frequently reprimand and chastise anyone who speaks out, creating a Gestapo-esque environment.

Violation of Federal Laws: Company outright forbid sales employees from taking breaks, demanding they work 11+ hour shifts, without breaks, and feeding them lunch at their desks in order to keep them working. Breaks were frequently discouraged and frowned upon. The legal department is given a case load that is virtually unmanageable so they cannot adequately devote time and effort to each client.

Deceptive practices. They claim they do not operate in "sales" but they buy leads just like any other organization. The people who first talk to new customers are sales personnel. The attorneys do contact the IRS on behalf of clients, but everything the attorneys do is exactly what customers can do themselves. They make it seem like you cannot do this without their help.

Overall, the way the company treats its employees is disgraceful. They do not value their people and treat them like dogs. They make promises to people and do not keep them. And when you speak up and challenge their authority, they fire you. They do not care about their clients, just money. Beware of Tax Defense Network, and don't bother trying to work for them. At least not if you want to have a job for very long.

Tax Defense is a joke to work for.

AUTHOR: United processing - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, June 20, 2011

I am a past employee of Tax Defense Network. "TDN"...... Everything that has been written about them is true. I started with 10 people in my training class and by the time we hit the sales floor we were down to four. The trainers would make their cuts the first Wed of training and the final cut the second Wed of training. When I was there they had management that were let go do to drug use and of course the ones let go cause " they didn't work out . I have worked in corporate America my whole career and have never experienced anything like this in my life. I resigned after wasting two months of my life and ashamed of myself that I didn't see the writing on the wall.

Old man/widower = TDN employee

AUTHOR: TheTruthHurts76 - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, November 29, 2010

I owe money to the IRS and did my due diligence and researched companies that could help me.  Upon entering "Tax defense" in the search box, Google had suggestions for "Tax Defense Network", "Tax defense network jobs" and the last one was "Tax Defense Network scams", which brought me here.  I was not going to comment until I saw the "old man" posting and thought geez, this person really does care about this company.  He sure does ramble a lot for somebody that does not a "dog" in the fight, lol.

Creep89 Not Using Review Sites How Intended

AUTHOR: Wolf creek renters association - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, November 19, 2010

I'm an old man who's a widower and don't have a lot to do but get on the internet and check out review and rip-off sites and add my two cents. I don't know this company Tax Defense Network personally but I do know that after doing a little bit of research that this person doesn't seem to be using the review type sites they way they were originally intended. Creep86 seems to take a lot of interest in this company Tax Defense Network since I've seen him on several of the sites over the past weeks giving hell to this company. I've seen 4 or 5 postings from this person today. Now I've seen a lot in my 72 years but something I can't put up with is out and out lying or someone who isn't what they say they are. I believe Creep86 is someone who was an employee of this company Tax Defense Network at one time and I'd about bet that he/she was fired. Something that irriatates the heck out of me is someone doing something wrong and then trying to punish some one of some thing for their shortcomings. I typed in the Tax Defense Network website address into Google and found far more positive than negative and the majority of the negative postings are from this Creep86. If I were you Mr./Ms. Creep86 I'd take an old man's advice and just move on. I don't mind telling anyone my name and phone number if I'm asked because I don't have a dog in this race. I'm just tired of seeing the Creep86 on the front page complaining about a company that apparently gave him an opportuntiy to make a wage and he/she couldn't do the job. Hell, just get another job, why try to hurt all of those people that work at the Tax Defense. I don't know how many work there but even if it were just a couple your constant rants about this or that could cause them to lose business unjustly and someone to get laid off due to your actions. Think about someone other than yourself Creep, you don't know who you may have hurt with your comments true or not. I'd bet they hired you and you didn't want to work, it seems you sit around all day on the internet and do nothing but berate someone that looks to have given you a chance. One thing I tell me children and grandchildren is that before you point a finger, look in the mirror first. Worked for me and I'm sure it'll work for you. Good look Creep86 and know I'm trying to offend you, I'm just tired of your disgruntled ex-employee spam clogging up my favorite review sits.

TDN trading free service to Florida BBB Chief for better BBB ratings.

AUTHOR: creep86 - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 17, 2010

This was deleted once before, but I recall and can bring forth witnesses to attest to the fact that TDN did knowingly trade free service for better rankings to the chief of our local BBB.

I was informed of this by one of the training managers, who said we were a great company and that even the local BBB chief would be doing business with us, and that maybe he would give us a leg up in BBB rankings, GO CHECK TDN'S RATING IT IS NOT AN A+.

TDN- Liars, crooks, cheats, employee scammers.

I guess my last post about this was deleted because they didn't want anyone to know about their little partnership trading free service for ratings/BBB complaint removal/deletion.

I say for one that they should be investigated for FRAUD!

TDN- taking your money, offering nothing.

Ex-Employee-Tax Defense Network was a great company to work for

AUTHOR: Eagles31 - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, October 28, 2010

I worked for Tax Defense Network for over a year. Unfortunately, I had to leave due to a family member becoming ill.  During my tenure, I learned so much while I also was helping people in financial distress.  They are a company that is not deceptive in their practices at all, it's quite the opposite.  We were trained specifically to be honest/up front with all clients and set realistic expectations.  I had a great relationship with my supervisor, upper management, and ownership.  All in all, it was a great period in my career and I came away with great business contacts and excellent training in business practices.  While I feel for the employees that were left with a sour taste in their mouth, I feel it's unfair that Tax Defense Network was cast in a poor light.  I wish everyone luck.

Fired for no reason?

AUTHOR: creep86 - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, August 27, 2010

I understand that TDN has the right to dismiss employees at a whim due to Florida law, but I still have no idea why I was terminated!

I was fired for excessive cellphone use, when my trainer on side by sides was using his phone and sending religious emails to other people as well as discussing religion with me at work after I had said "I do not wish to talk about this" as I do not discuss religion in a work place.

Also the entire process is a bait and switch for consumers, I felt horrible and felt like I was lying to each and every customer I spoke to before transfering them to a "Debt Councilor" who was just someone that was recently trained with me and reading a script word for word.

They also have a very shady break system, they will buy you lunch if you chose to work through your lunch break (Read: keep working and you get free pizza) It was a nice thing but it just seemed shady, also the fact that the owner of the company is the very definition of a pretentious, power mad, short guy syndrome business man.

Notable things about the owner:

1. do NOT call him buddy, it will be grounds for termination.
2. do NOT wear jeans around him.
3. do NOT attempt to speak to him unless you are spoken to.
4. do NOT question business practices or attempt to make suggestions.
5. do NOT let him see you doing nothing, you will get fired.

also during training, I was told to wait at the desk with the trainer I was doing side-by-sides with, he left and I was sitting there doing nothing, and I was reprimanded for it. I guess they were testing to see what I would do given no tasks or told what to do, and they got upset with me concerning the fact that I was looking bored and not doing anything.

I had only been on the floor for a couple days before they let me go via phone call, To be honest I do not harbor any bad feelings for this company, just confused and slightly upset with the termination as anyone would be.

I have friends who still are employed there and they are doing excellent, and have stable work without issues, I guess it was 50/50 with issues on my part of the deal and my non-understanding of what I was to do on the floor.

I do hope the company the best, but with my experiences and what I've dealt with from them, I will avoid them and their owner as well.

also a few secrets, People on the "testimonial/welcome" video are actually supervisors/trainers from the company playing the roles of satisfied customers, although they are mixed in with a couple real customers.

Also unnerving is this excerpt from the legal documents from their previous business:

"1. EMERGENCY DEBT RELIEF, INC., shall not effect any change in the form of doing
business or organizational identity as a method of avoiding the terms and conditions set forth in
this Assurance of Voluntary Compliance. This provision should not be construed to prevent
EMERGENCY DEBT RELIEF, INC., from changing its form of doing business so long as any
successor or alternate company created by the principals of EMERGENCY DEBT RELIEF, INC.
are bound by the provisions of this agreement.
2. The VALINHOS, shall not effect any change in the form of doing business or
organizational identity as a method of avoiding the terms and conditions set forth in this
Assurance of Voluntary Compliance. This provision should not be construed to prevent the
VALINHOS, from changing their form of doing business so long as any successor or alternate
company created by the VALINHOS are bound by the provisions of this agreement.
"

This seems to state that the owners of TDN are not permitted to do business as a debt relief company under any new name. (source: http://myfloridalegal.com/webfiles.nsf/WF/MRAY-6P8HTL/$file/EDR_AVC.pdf )

Also try going to their other website (www.v2bsolutions.com) whilst using firefox, I get an error screen showing 19 suspected HTML exploits and the site has been reported as a "Known attack/malware" website. So I did not visit the actual page.

There is numerous other things about this company/companies that I am refusing to post for fear of backlash at friends that I have on the inside of the company. I do not want my friends to lose their jobs over my complaint, they enjoy their work even though they admit it is "heartless and shady" and make their money and commission frequently and are supporting their families and themselves, in this economy I do not wish to jeopardize that, so I am making a statement that if anyone I know is terminated for no reason because of my speaking out against this company that right there will be proof of their hiring/firing techniques.

Like I said I wish TDN the best, but in the information age I feel that disclosure of things people should know about a company is number 1!

I will keep updated with information regarding my friends that still work there, as I have a few. I know TDN will read this and I wish to remain anonymous for fear of ANY backlash from their offices/employees, that is why I have waited months and months to post this information live on the internet. I do have to thank TDN for firing me as I found an amazing opportunity shortly after my termination and am still employed and fully fulfilled with my current position.

Thank you for reading.

What terrible rebuttal

AUTHOR: esthrlnd - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, August 25, 2010

Tax Defense. You are stating that it's okay to hire a group of people knowing that only a few of them, if any, will be kept on board? Do you understand that these "employees" are also human beings with families and need a job in order to feed them. What if these people turned down a good offer to come work for you and 2 weeks later you just fire them? What happens to them?

I guess you don't care do you? Because you said that these decisions are made based on the best interest of company? Try making decisions that in the best interest of the individual employee, make them happy and see how that affects the business.

Your rebuttal makes you look worse than the actual complaint.

Best Of Luck

AUTHOR: TaxDefense - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, June 15, 2010
Tax Defense Network is an industry leader, treating our clients and employees with the highest regard.  Tax Defense Network is very selective in the employees that we choose, our organizational growth and integrity depending on our representation. We hire based on qualifications conveyed during the interview process, we have found that some qualifications may not be displayed until after becoming employed.  As with any organization, we have to part company with employees based on a variety of reasons including: performance, operational costs, and what is the best for the future of our company.  We fully expect anyone to understand this from a rational business aspect.   We wish this individual the best of luck with all their endeavors.
