In Sept 2009 I contacted TaxMasters to see if we could obtain a payment agreement with IRS. Rep George Cabaj began explaining how I was in danger of Wage Garnishment and Liens, so we needed to act immediately and as soon as we could get power of attorneys signed and installment agreement for $4650.00 set up they would get the settlement analysis and stop any wage garnishment or liens. $1400 was taken out of my bank account for the initial.  After the second withdrawal of $812.50 I attempted to contact TM. The first Rep I talked with would have to find my file and call me back.  No return phone call.  Called back to speak with George, he no longer works there. Called back, second Rep, same thing...find my file...call back..no call. At this point I am getting a bit nervous thinking our wages were going to be garnished. When I voiced my concern about this,  I was told to have no contact with IRS to forward them to TM.   Just out of curiosity, exactly who would the IRS talk to,  I never talked to the same scripted rep once. The end of Nov, I received a letter from IRS saying they would accept our settlement we had been asking for.  I contacted IRS and asked if they had ever been contacted and sent any info to TX. THey had not.  Knowing this,  I finally got a rep...amazingly they did not have my file.   I said I would wait on hold while she found it.  She came back on and said my file had never been transfered from sales department.  At this point I told her I wished to cancel this agreement, we had settled our own account with IRS.  She appologized, and gave me a bogus fax number to Quality Assurance Dept who would review case and issue a refund.  Called next day to see if QA received my fax,  had not.  Given the same bogus fax number.  Never received the fax. Once again .....never received. Finally a customer service rep gave me the correct number after I became irrate! I was emailed back a confirmation from QS rep and told it would be about two weeks ro the review. Two days later received a letter from a E. Dewayne Logan saying I was not due a refund.  I called back talke to a "scripted" customer service rep who said since it was not possible to refund my money if I would resign all the power of Attorneys since they expire after 45 days they would work on my Case.  I solved my own case already,  TaxMasters did not even open my file, since they did no work just give my money back.  I then faxed another letter to E. Dewayne demanding to see singed and dated work that was sent to IRS on my behalf.  Never heard back. I could have been in serious trouble thinking TaxMasters had gotten in between my and the IRS and was handling everything.  All I had to do was keep money in my account for them to debit!!!   This company is playing with fire!!  Lets start a class action law suite.

I too have been victimized by Taxmasters. EVERYONE who reads these blogs, complaints needs to know the following information and participate. PLEASE!

#1. We are putting together a class action suit against taxmasters and really need as many participants as possible.

#2. The U.S. Treasury Department is investigating them. I discovered this by talking to the Harris County DA office (Houston Texas) this morning. The request was for everyone who has been defrauded in any manner to forward copies of all correspondence, evidence, bank records showing they took you money - as well as a statement of complaint detailing the actions (or lack of action in most cases) taxmasters did (or did not do) to represent (or not) you to the IRS.

The address to forward all of this is;

U.S. Treasury Department

ATTN: Special Agent Farwell

1919 Smith St.

Suite 2270

Houston, TX 77002

This is an actual request from me, (Aubrey Mason) addressed to you, (everyone defrauded by taxmasters)..... to respond and participate, recover the funds they store from all of us.

Please do not put this off. To join the class action suit please contact either myself or Pam (triplejassoc@aol.com) our Paralegal. My phone numbers are (210) 332-5120 (no voicemail) or (210) 602-4291 (has voicemail).

Aubrey
