On August 10,2005, I was working and on this date, I had surgery on my back.  This surgery became the first of many.  I was living only on workman's compensation and then in February, 2008, workman's comp. stopped paying me.  I then called my bank and requested a loan to get me through all of this mess.  They were going to give me the loan until they went to the courthouse and saw the government had placed a lien for $13,000.00.  When they called and told me what they had found, I was shocked!!!!!  I had never received any correspondence from the government regarding any money owed.  I panicked.

In 1990's I had started a dress shop and was doing well until my youngest daughter became pregnant with natural triplett's.  At that time, I then started looking for employment to be able to have a regular paycheck.  When I closed the shop, I paid the final quarter taxes.  I then took a job at a hospital and the government actually called me there and I faxed them a copy of my cancelled check.  I even faxed it twice awnd I heard nothing from them from that point on.  No more phone calls or no hard copy letters telling me I owed anything more.

When the bank found the lien, I placed a call to J.K. Harris company and when I dialed the number, the phone was answered by a Bryan Fleming of TaxCare Professionals.  How the line was crossed I will never know.  He then convinced me their company was much better and that he could give me phone numbers of other people who had dealt with J.K. Harris and said some of them had been waiting 3 years.  After hearing this, I decided I would allow taxcare to take care of this for me since Bryan said they could have it cleared up in 3-5 months.

On June 11, 2008, I received a letter detailing my payment plan, since I had no money coming in, which was I paid them $300.00 the day I talked with him in May, 2008 and was then pay $225.00 on June 27,2008.  After the initial payment,  my family and I struggled to make 5 more payments of $525.00 beginning July 31, 2008 and ending November 28, 2008.

On July 31, 2009 I received a email from this company saying they would be sending a penalty abatement form for my signature.  However, on September 29, 2009 I received two emails from Lizette Gomez requesting more documents be filled out and signed.  She said once she had received those forms, she would then send another penalty abatement form which I am still waiting on.  I

I had no clue until January 20, 2010 when I tried to send an email and tried calling only to find out they are no longer there.  I truly hope the government is looking into charging these people with fraud and they are forced to repay all money owed to the people like me that was desperate to get things straightened out only to be taken advantage of.
