I had Jason Taylor from Taylor Tile and Stone put tile in my basement. I unfortunately paid him before I saw the job which was the worst job I have ever seen.
Another company who I'd used before for other flooring gave me a quote and he beat it after I told him what it was. I think he just thought he could do a crappy job because he was doing it for less, but that is not right.
He left 6 in gaps away from the wall with no tile, in the laundry room. He did not remove the floor boards, just tiled up to them and when I told him about it, he said he would have to charge a lot more to do that. He should not have taken the job if he didn't want to do it right.
He did not remove the water softner, just tiled around it and grouted a big wide circle around it. I cannot believe this job. I paid him without looking at it first, because I trusted him as a businessman and had no idea anyone would do a thing like this. He didn't cut the tiles the right size on a couple stairs so he just grouted about 2 inches thick on them to fill in the space. Its horrible. He grouted big huge spaces around the doorways. He can't cut tile obviously because there are crooked pieces with big spots of grout in them. I will post a picture of one and you be the judge. Do not ever use this person because he won't return your calls if he knows you are not happy, in fact he lied and blamed the laundry room on his worker and then never would answer the phone when I called. He lies, he cheats. He is a dishonest and horrible company. Never use him, if you want the job done good.

None of what he said is true. I had no one over walking on the tile and I sent pictures to the website that he used to get business and they refunde me $500. , but that is not enough to fix the mess he made. Don't use him or you may be sorry like I was.

I was informed recently of this posting by a customer who was looking for anywhere to post how happy she was with my work. She stumbled across this and quickly let me know. A place that allows such comments is heartbreaking. No facts need be presented, no contact for rebuttal? Oh, but there is a link to pay for the reputation to be restored. I have never left a job(or any of the dozens of non-profit renovations I do for less fortunate) without feeling proud of the job I performed. This woman from the beginning was told I'm not a plumber, I will not be disconnecting her water softener , furnace, or any utilities. That is absurd. I'm not a handyman, I'm a flooring professional. After informing this woman that tile cannot be walked on for 24 hours some guy who supposedly knew what he was doing came after we laid the tile and walked all over the tile that had 1/2 inch of wet mortar below itignoring and taking down our caution signs. That's why tile was crooked. I told this woman that her old rickety steps shod not be tiled for her elderly mothers sake and due to the fact they moved so much that the grout would not stand a chance of not cracking. She insisted she thght it was in the bid. I did it for free so that this woman could see I was right. Without reinforcing those stairs it was a waste of money. I could not get this through her head. Not one word was spoken about the tile on the wall. After her friend ruined our hard work by walking on it, I would not even take her up on her offer to accept more money to do this. I knew at that point it was time to cut my losses. I've pleased the unpleasable, I spend much time helping those (many times at no cost) who have been burned by companies like what she made my company sound like. If you want things done right I'm the one to call. She knows I did everything I could short of going broke fixing the things her friend did and existing problems to make the dirty place able to work on. Do not believe this woman, I went above and beyond but some you just have to cut your losses
