I joined my husband's account three weeks ago when I started a new job and needed to do direct deposit for my weekly paychecks of $680.00.  The bank has as of today told me I am negative $500 for my account balance. They are going to steal my whole check this week.

My checks are direct deposited, yet the bank did not credit my account for over 24 hours after they had received my funds. But what is worse, they repeatedly allowed charges on my debit card, for two weeks. I believe that was for the purpose of being able to steal my money. Why in God's name would they put numerous charges through, knowing I didn't have enough funds to cover them?  My second paycheck, 680.00 was cut down to $486 for overdraft fees which I knew nothing about.

I never ever asked for or wanted overdraft anything! I never want to spend money I don't have and am angry I was manipulated like that. 37.00 charges each time, and now it is over five hundred dollars and growing.

My third paycheck was deposited today, yet the woman on the phone for the bank, claimed it wasn't showing or there, but it was there. What do you want to bet by the morning my fees will have grown larger? That is about when they will decide to honor my direct deposit, so they can take my money.

I am getting married in two weeks, I am disabled, and attended college for four years to get my job. I am outraged, and I am going to get my money back from them. Don't make the mistake of trusting this bank for a second. When my husband opened the account they couldn't have been nicer. However, their true colors showed through loud and clear with their corrupt, criminal and despicable actions.

Banks can not delay a direct deposit. They must make it available the date the sending company/bank says it's to be made. Are your depsoits to be credited on a specific day of the week (i.e. every other Friday)? Or on a specific date (i.e. the 1st and 15th of the month)? And what day/date are the deposits crediting to your account? Another issue is the order of nightly processing, does the bank do credits and then debits or do they do debits and then credits? If they do the debits first and your deposit is for every other Thursday, the deposit won't be available for any debits on Thursday business but will be available to any debits on Friday processing.

Looks like the big bad bank just did what they felt was necessary and it's all legal.
