It has been really frustrating three experiences with this bank, in which, we have 5 accounts, and we have been banking with them for 5 years, keeping our life savings in there as well!
First, 4 month ago-one of our deposits disappeared! I made a deposit in Jewel, Bloomingdale, on Bloomingdale Rd., I had to file the report with a representative over the phone! Thanks for this extremely well mannered and very helpful lady, who helped us solve the problem, I was so thankful to her and her attention, that I even wrote a letter to the TCF corporate office in Burr Ridge (IL) to let the managers know, that they should appreciate very FEW WELL TRAINED AND MANERED people working at this Bank!
Then, my husband was removed from one of our savings accounts-according to the Patriot Act, because, whoever opened the account for us-had not filled out the form correctly-missing his social security number-they said according to the act, they will freeze the account -all my savings money!-but thanks God they left me on the account and jus removed him! What kind of bank does not pay attention to so important details! It's my money-if I am expected to pay all my fees as a good loyal consumer-why they could not give the same great service back to us! I do not need the answer to that one. So as follows, we go back to the bank with all our paperwork-give all the copies, so he could be placed back on the account, the guy who works at the bank Mr. Chavez (I believe-I am sorry if I have misspelled it) takes care of us, asks us to come back the next day, so we could sign the papers, to put my husband back on the account! We come next day-he says, that the person who had to take care of it-was sick, so he did not fax the papers over to the main office! I was really very surprised as I could not believe that there's one available person to take care of such matters in a bank which is called NATIONAL TCF Bank!!!!!! As follows, Mr. Chavez, takes our phone number promising to call us, and let us know, when we can come in to sign the papers all over again, as we are working people, and we CANNOT come to the branch every hour! The problem-he has never called; I was so upset-it is real big misrepresentation of the bank! He did not pay any attention to this matter, and every other time I kept asking him how was it going when I was making my deposits at the bank-as he NEVER replied! I honestly feel we are mistreated in this situation; I seriously got tired of everyone, who is not doing their job!
And finally the third problem. We make a deposit on 26th at the same branch, Jewel Osco, on Plainfield Road, Countryside, IL for 2,848 USED and make a withdrawal at the same time, as we were making an investment! And after 2 days, the deposit-disappears-AGAIN! No records of it, nowhere to be found-but just few days ago-it was showing online, as we do online banking! I made credit card payments, license plate sticker renewal check was made out for Secretary of State. What if those checks bounce!? I call customer service, they tell me to go to the bank! I go to the bank, they tell me that without the receipt of deposit slip, I cannot do anything and the manager is not out their, nobody knows when he will be in! So I call my husband on the emergency call to his work, as he has a deposit slip, he tells me all the numbers, I go back, tell the girl, the teller, all the numbers, she writes it down, I have to admit it, she very nice and pleasant. After I leave, I call the customer service again, to make an investigation! 2 hours later, branch manager calls, he asks me to bring in the deposit slip so he could make a copy of it telling me that he will credit the money to our account, and once the deposit will be on my account-that he will deduct it, so that would help us out not to have any problems with the payment that we have made!! That's what we do, we take the deposit and withdrawal slips in there ( as the withdrawal was showing on the account!). Mr. Chavez takes care of us gain, and I am asking him is manager in, as the manager told us to leave the slip with anyone, and they will know about it. He says that he's not in, and that he will get it on Sunday-that means the next day. Then I just asked Mr. Chavez, if he could make sure that the manager will get this, as I am not sure if he knows the situation, and the another teller, lady working by the next teller INTERRUPTS my conversation with Mr. Chavez, telling me not to worry, that he will get it. I looked to her tag, and it just stated the name, she was not even an assistant manager! And I think that it was extremely RUDE, to interrupt my conversation with Mr. Chavez, as I haven't communicated with her regarding this matter! 2 Days past, it's Monday-I have not received any call from the bank, and nobody deposited our deposit back, I had to take out the money from our savings accounts to cover the negative balance-and I am going to be charged for it, as I would like to mention the fees TCF bank announces to be active starting December 1st! And how you could offer TOTALLY FREE CHECKING, then?!
I just want to be recovered for all this mess and inconvenience: for my mortgage payment, that may bounce, and all the checks, that will not clear! As well when I called to the bank personally yesterday, Sunday October 29th, they told me that the manager wll be back only TUESDAY! The 31st of October. And the main important thing-THERE ARE NO RECORDS OF OUR DEPOSIT IN THE BOOK, THEY KEEP THE RECORDS OF ALL DEPOSITS OVER 1,000USD! Manager of the branch explained me that the work went out late that is why it showed on the account for one day and then disappeared, but WHY THERE IS NOT RECORD IN THE BOOK OF DEPOSITS EVERY BRANCH KEEPS! IF WE WOULD NOT HAVE THE RECEIPT, OUR MONEY WOULD BE GONE, FOR THE SECOND TIME! I CANNOT HONESTLY BELIEVE IT!
AND I WAS MISTREATED AS A SOME KIND OF A LIAR, AS WE NEVER HAD NEGATIVE BALANCE ON OUR ACCOUNTS! EVERYONE AT THE BRANCH WERE LOOKING AT ME AS WAS SOME KIND OF CRAZY CUSTOMER COMPLAINING ABOUT NOTHING! WHAT KIND OF BANKING SYSTEM THAT IS? WHERE DO THE RECORDS GO?
