Opened a Checking Account in person at the TD South Dennis branch in October 2013.

Provided Jacqui Mulholland (jacqueline.mulholland@td.com) with all required information and made initial deposit to open account.

I was told yesterday that Account was closed in December 2013 due to missing information.

I confirmed that the phone number TD Bank has on file to reach us is correct.

Nobody at TD Bank contacted us by phone or by email.

Last April I sent Jacqui Mulholland 2 separate emails enquiring about the account; no response was given to these 2 emails.

I was also told yesterday that TD Bank attempted to send me a money draft for the balance in the Account:

Ms Mulholland confirmed that the address used did not include a zip code  and that the money draft has not

been cashed (no surprise since it was never received).

Nobody at TD Bank South Dennis bothered to phone or to respond to emails regarding the issues with the opening of this account.

Still awaiting a reaction to these issues from the Branch Manager Leda Hennessey (leda.hennessey@td.com) and compensation for the expenses incurred due to this very poor level of customer care.

Don't they have phones in Canada

AUTHOR: Robert - ()

POSTED: Friday, September 12, 2014

Not to be rude but so what if you are "Trans-Border".  Last time I was in Canada they had phones that worked just like they did in the US.  That is you pick them up, dial a number and a magic thing happens...the person you dialed will talk to you.

So this doesn't really explain why when dealing with YOUR money in a period of 11 months you sent 2 e-mails to a specific person at a bank..and that was it.

Again, not knowing all of the circumstances it sounds like they could have been a bit more proactive, BUT you also could have been.

Trans-border Checking Account

AUTHOR: Pierre Goulet - ()

POSTED: Thursday, September 11, 2014

TD Bank markets Trans-Border Checking Accounts for Canadians who spend time in the US.

In our case we use the account to pay for cottage rentals and other holiday-related expenses;

so the account is used infrequently.

Hence opening an Account in Cape Cod.

It is a two way street...

If you are not leaving anything out, then yes the bank could have been a bit more proactive in trying to get a hold of you.

BUT...this goes both ways.  From your report you opened up the account in October, and we don't know what happened between October and December, however we can probably presume you didn't attempt to use it.  So in December they closed the account.

It was not until April(4-5 months later) before you sent an E-MAIL..well 2 mails.  It was then another 4-5 months before you found out that the account was closed.

So in January why didn't you care?  How about February?  March?  Then in April how come when they didn't respond did you not CALL them?  After all, just like they had your number...you had theirs.

Now going back after these two e-mails in April apparently this account wasn't that important to you in May, June, July, or August.  It was only almost half-way through September that you are all of the sudden complaining how horrible they were about not calling you or trying to contact you, where and you somehow deserve compensation.  Yea, nice try.  If they ever give you any compensation consider yourself lucky, but if they don't that is NOT a RipOff.
