Show customers why they should trust your business over your competitors...

PUBLIC NOTICE:  To date in 2016 I have lost $30,237.72 resulting from the purchase of a Tech Craft Group, LLC cell phone accessory dealership. The company is owned by Mr. Ron Allen of 2618 Battleground Ave. in Greensboro, NC 27408.

In January of 2016 I was contacted by Tech Craft company representatives recruiting dealers in my area. They were very nice people and presented an exciting story that projected a lucrative return on investment and requiring minimal part time effort.  After their many calls and my due diligence, I withdrew $35,000 out of my retirement fund and invested in a 50 location route. I was told the product was superior to that of other competitors in the industry.

The product arrived separately from various plants (all in China). It was all loose in boxes and I soon discovered it was not special and there is considerable competition. [continued below]....

..... They put me in contact with a site locater who came and placed the 50 displays (all in low income, high crime areas of my town). The displays sent to me were cheap plastic bins that had to be taped together with clear packing tape. The product labels sent to put on the displays were not professionally done, in fact Ron Allen printed them on standard Avery labels. The displays the competitors have in the market are much more professional.

I was specifically told when doing my due diligence that the displays averaged sales of 2 units per day. The program has you service the stores once every two weeks. My first visit I had to pick up 11 of the displays. Only 9 of the 50 accounts had sold anything at all, while 31 sold $0. Two weeks later and the results were the same except I lost 30 more of the accounts due to no sales. What I found is competitors had displays out there already and they were selling virtually the same product for, in most cases, half the cost and retail that I was selling the Tech Craft product for.

I felt like I was misled to say the least and requested a refund from Tech Craft. At least a refund of the money paid for the cost of the product. After a month and a half of my relentless contacting Ron Allen, he agreed to take all of the product back for $9,800 (less than cost). I delivered it to him in April of 2016. It is now November and to date I have received only $2,200 from Mr. Allen. This after numerous calls, texts and emails. After 7 months he still owes me $7,600 on the product I returned to him per our agreement (returned at a discount). I understand business and the potential risks of investing. All I asked from Tech Craft was to allow the return of the product, which he did, and for Mr. Allen to honor our agreement. Even if I get payment for the product I returned to Tech Craft I still will have a $20,437 business loss. I simply have asked Mr. Allen to honor our agreement to refund me for this product I have returned and he has in his possession.

Feel free to contact me by email to ask questions about my experience with Ron Allen and Tech Craft.

I am not a confrontational person. Many of you have contacted me regarding this complaint and I have provided you with honest answers and in some cases provided documentation on what transpired.

Mr Allen knows the truth. He knows the conversations we had and the committments both he and his partners made to me. I am retired and suffered financial loss due to this situation.

I am not going to argue with his statements, again he knows what transpired. I will forever speak to anyone who wants to question me about what happenend in this situation.

Mr Allen still owes me for the product I returned to him. He will owe this debt until paid. I will never forget this regrettable experience.

Yes, Mr. Harmon did purchase 50 displays from our company.  The company feels that Mr. Harmon did not give his locations the proper chance to perform.

As soon as we heard there was a problem we had the locator contact him.  The locator offered to come in and fix the problem, which would include replacing the locations he lost and evaluating the locations that provided poor initial numbers.

Mr.Harmon did not accept this help but rather told the locator to hold off.  He then requested his money back and proceeded to negotiate his terms.

For the record, Tech Craft Group does not have a refund policy nor have we ever had to address it.  In spite of this, and despite the fact that Mr. Harmon came to this decision far too quickly, I entertained the possibility of a partial refund.

Mr.Harmon made commitments to Tech Craft regarding the volume of fundraising he would participate in.  To date we are not aware of any efforts on Mr. Harmon's part to do any fundraising at all.

Due to his declarations of his past experience with routes and business in general the company gave him an extremely large area including the entire city of Columbia and interest in several other cities in the State of South Carolina.

Tech Craft could have easily placed 4-5 distributors or more in the territory that was reserved for Mr. Harmon and expected him to fulfill at least some of those expectations.  To abandon the business so quickly without giving the locator the chance to rectify the situation leads us to question his commitment to the business.

As a result, Tech Craft has lost money as well with downtime an absence of production for a lot of areas that he had locked up.  The bottom line for the company is that the effort was not put forth by Mr. Harmon, the company was not given the chance to rectify the situation, and in spite of all this we still negotiated a partial refund that did not have a built in deadline.  Our intention was always to fulfill it to completion. Mr. Harmon made a decision to put a complaint on Rip-off Report trying to hurt our business, I learned over the years of being in a successful business that you can’t get ahead in life trying to tear down someone else, but in fact we have many happy distributors around the country that are doing very well. I am open to answer all questions that you may have about our business. 1.800.490.1282

Thanks, and have a great day!
