This company identifies themselves as techs for Microsoft...they are not. I had a pop-up display on my monitor while visiting some common websites. It said my PC was at risk and to call Microsoft Tech Support ASAP. I called the number provided.

They sold me a 3yr plan to protect my computer and network. I remained doubtful and called the REAL Microsoft help desk. They said they would never use pop-ups. The number I provided them was not affiliated with any part of Microsoft. I was told flatly I had been scammed.

I am working now with my credit card company to dispute the charges and recover my money. You have been warned! Do not attempt to deal with TechGinee or Ginee24/7. If you do get a pop-up, immediatly turn off your computer and call the MS help desk at 1-888-972-9165 (as recommended my Microsoft).

Their address is listed as New York, New York, but I think they might all be based out of India.

POSTED: Monday, January 11, 2016

This is an update from my last posting;

I contacted the company and told them I wanted a full refund ($445). They said they would refund only $200 to my credit card. I told them I would file a fraud report and they would have to deal with the CC company. I was briefly put on hold. I was then told they would provide a full refund. A week later I had to call them as a reminder. A few days after that call, my CC balance show a full refund.

I would still recommend to anyone they should avoid this company. I had to spend $180 for a computer tech to run a diagnostic and clean the malware they intalled on my laptop.
