I've been attending Techskills of nevada for over a year after I was injured at work. The voc rehab councelor steered me into the school though it was not the school I wanted.The school tried toconvince me I could complete and recieve several computer certifications. But not long after I started the program it was apparent to me they were'nt able to provide what they promised.They gave me unrealistic goals and told the voc rehab councelor that they could be achieved.They set unrealistic time lines for completion of objectives.Like 30 day to complete an entire course after looking at the contract I noticed 60 days was the minimum. They told the councelor andultimately the insurance company who paid for my school that this all the time I should need to complete each faze of the cirriculum. To the point at handthe instructors yes NOT TEACHERS are only certified in there fields by the school they instruct at with few exceptions. When I had problems with somthing they were unable to answer my question or address the problem without fiddling around with my computer to figure what was the issue. It is difficult to describe the frustration I had when I sat there for several minutes waiting for them to figure out if I had made a mistake or the virtual software was not working correctly which was an issue often.I found out most instructers have no experience in the field they instruct in.

When students complain about the fact that an instructor could not help them with a problem,an administrator from the school would tell them we'll get you a tutor. This consisted of a few emails with someone out side the school.It was nearly impossible to get help from within the school. Finally most courses were out of date IE;2003 SERVER, XP PROFFESIONAL,A+ 601-602 just to name a few. the school has been taken over by Techskills sacremento but not much changed. though they did get new computers and updated some courses.There are more administrators than instructors and they are spread thin to cover all the shifts. they also don't keep up with the latest testing material. Which is how you actually pass a certification, because you master the answers to the questions not learn how to actually do the job needed to go to work in the field.
