Telamon Corporation Corporate payroll rip-off. You'll wind up in poverty under a bridge just as fast as if you just went there directly if you work for them. Carmel Indiana

I was hired on with Telamon Corp. on a temporary basis to help them "catch-up" on projects with SBC (Southwest Bell Company). My inital impression of this company was bad and hindsight being 20/20 I should have quit on the first day.

First and formost, the pay system works as follows. Each day you must call in your time to Carmel,IN.(I worked in the Arkansas branch office), giving your drive time (1/2 hourly rate), your "on-site" time (full hourly rate) and the TAR # (job ID number) What's the problem you say? I'm finding this out the hard way, NO PAPER TRAIL!

If there is a discrepency it's your word against theirs. Now for the clincher, after being laid off due to lack of work ie. "making waves" I had to wait over 2mos. for my final paycheck which, when I deposited it, came back with "STOP PAYMENT" stamped on it. Of course Bank of America pulled the money back out putting my account into the red and then charged me 5$ for a reacharound.

Telamon corp is now screening my calls and I had turn the matter over to the county Prosecuting attorney for resolution (still pending, they are not sounding too hopeful).

The bottom line is that this company has recieved awards for being minority owned and it seems they have brought the "Company Owns You" work ethic with them. Why don't you just put a gun to my head and make me work for free? All said, don't use Telamon services. Let your telephone provider know that you don't support this company's business ethic's. Most imporantly don't work for them. I know times are tough, but you'll wind up under a bridge just as fast as if you just went there directly, and at least you didn't make Albert Chen any richer while he was using you.
