Telecheck My checks declined for no reason Does Not Appear Internet

This is about the 5th time this has happened in recent months. I was shopping with my daughter tonight and wrote a check in a store in Tupelo, MS. The clerk told me my check was declined. I asked if they used Telecheck, and he said yes.

I was really upset by this as I knew there were ample funds in my account to cover the check. I called Telecheck from the store, as I was instructed to do on previous occasions when my check had been declined.

Again I was told that there was no negative information on my account. I was told that I did not meet all of the guidelines, therefore my check was denied. When asked which guideline I did not meet, the Telecheck representative told me he did not have that infornation.

I then asked why I met the guidelines yesterday as I had written a check at a local convenience store that uses Telecheck, and nothing had changed on my account. He was unable to answer.

At this time I asked to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor gave me the same nonsense answers as the first person I spoke with. She then told me they had cleared the check and I could go ahead with my purchase, but by this time I had already left the store.

I live in a very small town, and am known by many in our community. It is extremely embarrassing and humiliating when a check is declined in front of others, especially when the funds are there for payment. What is even worse, is the people responsible for such defamation of one's charachter cannot even tell the reason for such action.

I am more than happy to join or help initiate any class action suit against Telecheck, as they have caused me much humiliation and embarrassment, with, I am sure, much more to come.
