Went shopping at Sam's Club on 7-8-10 & paid for my purchases ($182.89) with a check that was electronically converted (bank said it cleared on 7-12-10). On 7-15-10 went shopping at Walmart & wrote a check for $165.68 which Telecheck promptly declined citing Code 4, Reason 2 (bad check). Telecheck informed me that the check written to Sam's Club was insufficient. My bank said the check had been paid & the account was never insufficient. Had to fax copies of bank statement showing sufficient funds & paid check to Sam's Club. Waiting for Telecheck to get back to me & was informed it would take 10 days. In the meantime, had to leave the shopping cart there (all merchandise had been put in bags.) Informed by Walmart there was nothing they could do unless I wished to pay by credit card. Unfortunately, my daughter needed the card that day (bank will only issue one business card) and there was nothing I could do but leave. It was embarrassing, humiliating, and absolutely unnecessary and avoidable. Would certainly like to be part of any class-action lawsuit taking place.
