I found this site after they called, but I didn't fall for the rip-off. There was an Indian sounding lady that told me that my phone number had been randomly selected to recieve a $200 shopping spree. She recited off an address that was here in town, but not mine, so I corrected her.

She continued on with her sales pitch, which I could barely make out because of her thick accent. She, then, proceeded in explaining exactly how I was to fill out my check to them. Just to verify that I had a valid checking account, could I please give her the numbers on the check. For some reason, I gave her the check number. That is really all that I thought that she was asking for. She told me that she needed all the numbers on the bottom of the check. I told her that I don't give my banking information over the phone.

Her answer was that it was printed on every leaf of my checkbook and it wasn't confidental information. Again, I repeated that I did't give that information over the phone. She became aggravated and persistant that I give her this information. After again telling her that I didn't give that over the phone, she told me that she would not be able to send me my package without it. So I told her not to send it to me and hung up.

Not even 5 minutes later, I recieved another phone call from an 800 number. I didn't answer the phone, because of the irriation from the first phone call. These phone calls occurred at around 8:30 am.

Later, that same day, around 4:30 pm, I got another phone call. This time from a forgein sounding gentleman. He started telling me about the wonderful gifts that Premeir Benefits wanted to send me. I told him that I was not interested in their offer, just like I had told them eariler. I, also, told them to stop calling me. But before he could hear all of that, he had hung up.

After recieving 3 calls from them, today alone, I decided to surf the web and see what I could find. I found this one. They are apparently canvassing this area, right now.

I just wanted everyone to be aware. They are very insistant about getting banking information. With technology today, all you need is routing and account numbers. They can reaccess your account at anytime, once they have those numbers. Remember that it is yours and you don't have to give it out.

I called the customer service line that I found on this site. I told them to stop calling me. The guy, that answered the phone, apologized for the inconvience. He told me that he would put me on their do not call list. He, also, advised me to get on the national "Donot Call" registry. I did that as soon as I got off the phone with them.
