Telepak, Inc. Cellular South Bad Business Ethics, Doesn't care for their employees, NO INTEGRITY!!! Jackson Mississippi

I'm from a small town in Mississippi and grew up around Cellular South and knew a lot of people that worked for them. I later moved to Memphis and started a Career in Wireless Communications. When I found out that Cellular South was coming to the Memphis Market I got very excited and applied.

I was hired as Market Manager for the Memphis Market much to the discouragement of a friend and an associate that was currently employed their. All he said was "Misery loves company". Boy was he right. I was miserable. First and foremost I was lied to about my compensation. Don't mess with my money. Second, I just did not like the way they did business. It's like they only wanted the upper class to do business with them.

In Memphis, the bankruptcy capitol of the world, give me a break. And always going back on their word. My manager told me anything discussed with upper management get it in writing. Another lesson not learned. When VP's or Directors were in town we were told to put up a front and never talk about anything negative.

So if there were problems you needed resolved I guess they were supposed to solve themselves or you would be considered an Negative employee and we can't have that. To make it worse when you went to Orientation and Sales Training for 3 days, at the end of the 3 day class there was an exam that had to be taken and passed. Failure to do so was immediate termination. It happened twice in Memphis while I was there.

I could go on and on about this company how they preached about ethics and integrity when I experienced the opposite.

I was recruited by a competitor that is the Leading Wireless Provider in the Nation. (No Names) It was an opportunity of a lifetime to have way better benefits and pay and not to mention working for the leader in the Wireless Industry. I was very successful for 5 months then Cellular South found out where I was and enforced the No Compete agreement that I signed and it cost me the opportunity of a lifetime. I can't explain the agony me and my family have gone through because of this.

We live in a city of over 2 million people, I think there is enough business for everyone. Needless to say I could have hired and attorney and fought it but what's the use. I was unemployed for 6 months and have destroyed every ounce of credit I have all because this Small Company in Podunk Mississippi is the only Wireless Company left that makes you sign this dumb agreement.

I was only trying to better myself and better provide for my wife and 2 children. Look what it got me.

I wouldn't advise my worst enemy to work for them. BEWARE!!!!!
