USBI USBI Sends Bogus Bills for Touch One Dallas Texas

My January bill included an insert from this USBI outfit. I had never heard of them and it seemed they were duplicating LD charges from my carrier of choice, TouchOne. I attempted to call the 1-888 customer service number to contact them but this number actually forwarded over to TouchOne. So, there really is no way to get hold of them (I wouldn't waste my time filling out their form). Nice. TouchOne had no idea what was going on but assured me USBI was not authorized to bill for them. I got the feeling they were starting to get other calls like mine from other customers who were being "slammed" by USBI.

We had to conference call with AT&T to get the bogus charges removed but I have no guarantee this won't happen again. The AT&T rep made it sound like they were doing me a great favor by removing the charges. Really??!! I should be grateful to you for not participating in ripping me off? I'm as mad at AT&T as I am at USBI. It appears anyone that wants to can just bill me without my consent if they know how to work the system.

The thing that really gets me is these lowlifes are getting away with this by preying on the most vulnerable in society. People who don't know any better and think they should pay their obligations and think they are dealing directly with AT&T and mistakenly trust a large company to send correct invoices. Older people who can't sift through the jumble of sheets sent every month and don't have someone looking out for their interests. This is just wrong and the powers that be need to address it.
