Terry Hodgson Owner Of Electronics Direct Purchased a Sidekick 3 for $200 and paid through Western Union. Haven't received callls/e-mails about the tracking number he said he'd give. It's been a week. Kissimmee Florida

I found Terry Hodgson's ad on Craigslist & contacted him through e-mail. He then replied that night and talked through about me purchasing a brand new Sidekick 3 for only $200.
I sent the money through Western Union like he asked. He was to send the phone the next day through Fedex and call me with the tracking number. From then on, I haven't heard from him: no calls/e-mails.
He gave me all his information:address, and phone number.
It's been a week since the last time we've talked and I don't have my phone.

Western Union should NEVER be used to send money to ANYONE that you do not know personally and/or have an existing business relationship with. NEVER do this!! Western Union payments are just like cash. That money is gone and you have no recourse.
ALWAYS use a VISA or Mastercard branded credit card or debit card for internet or phone purchases, as then you have purchase protection. If you have bad credit, you can still get a prepaid or secured credit card for internet purchases.
You could also use PayPal.
Using Western Union for any purchase is just as risky as stuffing that 200 bucks in an envelope and sending it to a PO BOX!
Just a little common sense goes a long way in avoiding rip offs. NEVER deal with ANYONE on the internet without first verifying the business actually exists, and verifying a physical BUSINESS address, AND a LISTED business telephone#.
Do you have copies of the emails? Do you have a copy of the AD? If so, you can trace the IP addresses to go after this person.

This stems from one person. One upset customer that has her friends posting false comments about a small business is not right. NO ONE FROM HEAR EVER CONTACTED ME REGRDING THESE POSTINGS SO HOW IS THIS FAIR? I was told about this site by one of my regular customer. How can people post things without proving it is TRUE? This can really hurt small biz! Please stop posting things about me or I will find out who you are and file charges!
