 I purchased an Jaguar XJR from Texas Cars Direct a few years ago and should have listed this then. I flew to Dallas to pick up this car and found that the exterior was dirty, but it was a rainy day so I though this was exceptable. I noticed that the paint on the front end of the car was in great condition. I assumed that anyone who had no paint chips must have cared for their car very well. I finished my purchase and drove my car back to Houston. When I got home and washed the car I found a few deep rock chips on the hood and above the drivers side headlight as well as a poor dent repair on the side of the car.


Over the next few weeks I noticed more and more rock chips on the front of the car. The dealer here in town said that the front end was quickly and poorly repainted. Not enough coats were applied and most likely had not cured properly before TCD released the car to me. In less than six months the paint on the front end was shot, and today the front of my car looks almost primer gray. It's been a good car, but the shoddy repaint, poor paint repairs miss matched tires etc. will keep me from purchasing there again. Had they disclosed that the front end and other areas had been repaired and repainted I'd have required the car to be washed, and taken it to the dealer to have it inspected. I'm not happy.

Texas Cars Direct...

Having recently picked up my latest purchased vehicle from TCD, I still have only rave reviews for TCD (and its staff) after 10 yrs of buying cars from them. Each of the 6 cars I have acquired from TCD has been a delight, both mechanically and cosmetically. Any questions or concerns I have ever expressed to the staff about a vehicle have been dealt with immediately and without hesitation, always to my satisfaction. Likewise, I have recommended TCD to several of my friends who subsequently purchased vehicles from them as well & todate, never a disparaging word. One of them even commented to me, I wish I had known about TCD sooner. To me, that said it all !

My experiences with Texas Cars Direct

 I have purchased at least 8 cars from TCD.  I have bought Jags, Mercedes, and a Lexus over the last 10+ years and have never had a single problem with any of my cars.  I also have had I would guess at least 10-12 friends of mine that have also bought cars from TCD.  I have to say that none of them have ever mention to me that they have had any problems as well (and these friends would let me know believe me).  I will tell you that the staff at TCD is the best I have ever dealt with in terms of service and their knowledge of vehicles.  I live in Colorado after moving from Austin and would go back to TCD if I was to buy another car.  I would bet that william from Montgomery could call them tomorrow and that they would figure something beneficial out.  Not sure why William waited 3 years if he was unhappy but still urge him to call them.  This is the first time that I have ever personally heard a negative comment about TCD.  So I have to think that this problem that William experienceded has to be a very isolated one.  Also after re-reading Williams post how you would not be able to see rock chips regardless of the weather at time of purchase but I am very picky with my cars and check them with a keen eye.  I also noted that William mentioned mixed matching tires that makes me wonder because I have never seen mixed matching tires on any of the cars I have bought or any in the showroom.  I would recommend and have to anyone to buy a car there without question.

I read the complaint filed against TexasCarsDirect by William. Although I cannot comment on his personal experience with this dealership, mine have been completely different.  I purchased my first Jaguar from TexasCarsDirect (TCD) over ten years ago. I purchased other autos from all manner of dealerships before, but none have even come close to the high level of service that I experienced at TCD. From the initial contact to the time of the purchase and even afterwards, the attention, care, and committment to my satisfaction by the staff of TCD was far superior to any I had ever previously received. The Jaguar I purchased was immaculate and I had absolutely no problems with it afterwards.  I have subsequently purchased SEVEN more Jaguars from TCD (my latest as recently as last month) and in EVERY instance, they have been as exceptional as my first. As a testament to the condition of the vehicles sold by TCD, one of the Jaguars I purchased won 1st Place in it's division at the 2009 Jaguar Club of North America National Concours. I didn't have to do anything with this car prior to entering it in the competition, it was that clean from TCD.  If I sound like an advertisement for TCD, that is because of my level of satisfaction I have received from this dealership. I've referred over twenty other friends, clients, and family members (including my own mother!) to TCD and NOT ONE of them has had an experience any less satisfactory than I have. These are people like myself who are professionals and can buy cars from anywhere but have gone to TCD because of the exceptional cars, prices, service, and professionalism of their staff. Also, like me, most have become repeat customers of TCD. You don't get that sort of repeat business by selling second rate cars and not standing behind your customers.  It is unfortunate that William feels his experience was not satisfactory, but knowing the staff of TCD, I would bet that if he even contacted them now, they would do their best to try and make things right. Try that three years later with any other dealership and you'd get laughed at, but not TCD. Their business ethic and reputation in my experiences with them is beyond reproach.
