i worked for air genie for a week,i dont know if what thay do is even legal, it is real close to a bait and switch 29.95 special.then i was to up sale to you when i got there.i was not good at it,so i quit but not to be surprised thay keeped my last check.nice.

The Truth Told about "Air Genie"

 As it turns out, my old system had caught on fire and was shot! With the economy as it is, I was very upset to learn that I had to replace the system. Gene gave me a fantastic deal! He and his crew worked into the evening and the house was cool that night

Thats funny, Air Genie doesn't replace air conditioners, they only CLEAN them, haven't you heard them on the radio, They are not interested in replacing AC systems.  But they will take apart your entire unit, law it all over your yard or garage and pick apart every component you have good or bad and recommend replacing it.  Folks they don't make their money on a $29 or $159 dollar maintenance, with fuel and labor its impossible.  They make their money on marking up parts extremely high, most parts are within manufacture tolerances.  This guy did the same thing in the Tampa market, his pitch is great, but he doesn't follow through. "I dont even want to replace your A/C system" find someone else he says... complete BS....  my favorite one... "If you get a quote to replace your compressor thats under $2000 run, run, hang up the phone. Really? most compressors cost $300 to $600, add some refrigerant, labor and profit and $1395 to $1500 is reasonable...He
is brain washing customers into paying higher prices and making the normal guys prices look like Joe down the street with no A/C license.... Gene do your self a favor, before God smokes you with a lightning bolt... Go back to Tampa, these customers will be on to your scam soon...You will end up on fox 4 like the other scammers, Direct, Affordable and Kenmark... Its only a matter of time...

Air Genie was very good to me!

A few weeks ago, my air conditioner was hit by a power surge. The unit had been serviced by Air Genie just the week before. It was after hours when I called to arrange for a service call. To my surprise, the owner of the company, Gene Slade Jr., answered the phone. I was very impressed by that. He said that they were booked the next day, but, that he would work me in even if he had to come out himself.....which he did! As it turns out, my old system had caught on fire and was shot! With the economy as it is, I was very upset to learn that I had to replace the system. Gene gave me a fantastic deal! He and his crew worked into the evening and the house was cool that night. I can't thank Air Genie enough! I highly recommend using this company for all of your air conditioning needs.

This is Gene Slade, Jr. and I am the owner of Air Genie Air Conditioning Co. I typically elect not to respond to negative posts. However, in this case I feel the truth must be told and the air cleared.

I have been accused on this site, by an ex-employee of baiting then switching my customers as well as keeping his last check. The first I will address in the body of this post. As for keeping his last check, the accusation is false and I have been advised by Ripoff report that I should demand proof. Let this post serve as our demand for proof. I hold proof that the technician was paid in full.

Air Genie Air Conditioning Company goes to market in an unconventional way. 6-8 times a week I broadcast a special offer via radio airwaves. The offer is for a 90-120 minute Precision Tune-up. The cost of the Precision Tune-up is $189. We offer it on the radio for $29.95-$49.95.

My radio broadcast also makes it quite clear that it costs Air Genie approximately $150.00 to perform this service when taking into account the expense of radio airtime coupled with the expenses associated with running a top-shelf service company. With an expense of $150 offset by a $29.95 payment from the customer, Air Genie loses $120.05.

Air Genie justifies the potential loss in several ways.

1) Air Genie gains referrals from satisfied customers.

2) Through satisfying customers Air Genie gains annual service contracts.

3) Some customers have air conditioners require restoration and chose Air Genie to restore the equipment for an additional charge.


If Air Genie makes a poor impression, Air Genie loses money.

If Air Genie makes a good impression, Air Genie makes money AND customers receive a more reliable air conditioning system that is less likely to let them down when it counts!

The customer saves money on their energy bills. A clean air conditioner costs less to run, and breaks down less than a dirty air conditioner.

The customer saves money because their air conditoning system lasts longer.

Making an air conditioner last longer also preserves the earths precious resources. Copper, aluminum, oils, fuels, ect. must all be exhausted to build new air conditioners.

The customer breathes cleaner, fresher air, sleeps better at night, and has an increased quality of life.


The cold, hard truth is that nothing in life is free! We give you a huge discount on the tune-up to get in the door. We perform a better tune-up than you can get from anyone else. We bring to your attention anything that is currently or that in the future will give you problems. We present you with the findings. The decision then becomes yours!

I know of someone who had a similar experience as cool one. To work for Air Genie you either have to be prepared to sell to consumers what they really don't need or you won't make it. And yes, you won't get your paycheck or full paycheck when you leave. He won't be in business for long.
