 I purchased an antique doll through RUBY LANE from this seller.  She delayed shipping by a few days...no big deal...sted she needed a clarification of address.  I did that.  She shipped it out.  It was supposed to have 1500 dollars of insurance.  The item was misdelivered by DHL.  DHL driver did not collect a signature but wrote SOF, signature on file in the box.  Long story short it was left in an unsafe location and someone wandering by on the very busy sidewalk got themselves a very nice package. 

  The seller upon notification immediately went into ....oh Im really really sorry...FOR YOU.   Stated almost immediately the insurance wouldnt pay (?!)  I reported...DHL investigated and said it was up to the shipper to file the claim.  I sent her the info.  When I filed with paypal she said she would close her account before she would fill in the negative.   Her store description describes her as a professional antiques dealer from a family of antiques dealers.  She tells me  "oh Im just a collector that sells some things"

  Paypal states they cant help because the driver wrote SOF ...signature on file... in the box.   I dont have a signature on file with DHL.  Paypal stated that because there was a mark they wouldnt pay.  So seller has the money.  She states today she has the decision from Dutch post that DHL says I have a claim....so they wont pay.  I DO NOT have a claim..they would not let me the recipient file..it is for her to file....(which she told me she already did.)  AGAIN she tells me.  Im so sorry this happened to YOU.  Not.... Ill continue to follow up...not.... I know you dont have a claim...basically  OH WELL I have my money so...I no longer care. 

 

SO BASICALLY DO NOT BUY FROM THE ANTIQUES CAROUSEL on RUBY LANE.  If something happens...she will hang you out to dry.  She does not see a customer problem as her problem.  Now I am out 1500 dollars and NO One wants to help.  I left a message with RUBY LANE by phone but have not received a call back.

Your voicemail message was received at Ruby Lanes' home office on October 24, 2013. No transaction details were provided at that time but Customer Support contacted you by email that day and, on receipt of your reply on October 25, 2013, inquiries were promptly opened with the shop on your behalf.

Our Customer Support staff facilitated and moderated communication between you which established that the shop had initiated an insurance claim, based on your report that the item had not been received, but this claim was ultimately denied, since the delivery had been recorded.

This matter, related to a delivered shipment and involving a third-party shipper and insurer, fell outside the terms of Ruby Lane's Return Policy and Terms of Use. Ruby Lane did not sell or ship the item and neither the shop owner nor Ruby Lane had information as to where or to whom it was delivered, other than as documented in the shipper's records. If, as you reported, a DHL employee inappropriately recorded a false signature record of delivery, you would need to pursue this matter directly with DHL, which has no association with the Ruby Lane company.

At our request, the shop owner provided you with full documentation related to the shipment and the denied insurance claim. These were forwarded to you on November 6, 2013 and no acknowledgment or further correspondence from you was received.
