Ok...I'm pretty pissed right now but here goes:

I noticed my service engine light had come on about 3 weeks ago, and my car was running sorta hard (maybe it was time for a tune-up, afterall, I just rolled over to 60,000 miles), but nothing major. So I decided to take my car to the shop while I had some extra-cash to get it serviced.

Issue #1: I took my car to the shop and they charged me $75 for a diagnostic..ok cool. They kept my car in their shop for 3 DAYS because they couldn't find anything wrong for the engine light to be on. What the hell? Just read the f***in' machine! So they finally called me back with all this fancy terminology that I couldn't understand, and prices that were outrageous. So (ok, here's my mistake) I told them I couldn't afford anything over $500. Why did I tell them that?

Issue #2:   They told me that I needed new lifters for the engine, and this was the root of all my problems, and it would cost me only $1500 (YEAH RIGHT!). So I obviously told them that I couldn't afford that, so they gave me a "plan b" option using alot of extravaggant ways to tell me they'll do a f***ing oil change! So they conveniently charged me as close to $500 as possible ($475.67 to be exact) for a fancy oil change!! A "fuel induction service", $210 labor, $227 parts, and a bunch of micellaneous s**t! Ok, so whatever, I'm busy, I'm a full time grad student and I work full-time, so I really had no time to even deal with the particulars, as long as my car is fine now, right? WRONG!!!!

Issue #3: My car, from the time I started the ignition still in their parking lot, til right now, my 2001 Suzuki Viatara sounds like a f***ing diesel truck! Its so embarrasing! The car takes about 2 - 3 trys for it to start now, when I drive it, it feels like I driving a manual transmission engine because of the way it jerks when I feel the car shifting gears, and it runs even harder than before to the point where it'll cut-off!!! Oh my GOD!!!!! All of this for a d**n service engine light?!?!? But the good news is, they f***ed themselves in my report they gave me. The report clearly states "Customer came in with complaint of service engine soon light" PERIOD. Then the report, after the list of their "repair" and their follow-up notes indicates that "engine ticking noise still present, hopefully over time the noise will get better".  They have it in writing themselves that

NEVER reported a f***ing noise, they did, and  AFTER they "repaired" the car!!!!!!!!

Issue #4 : So I took the car, and thought I'd give it a week or so to see if the noise would get better...umm NO!! Only worse, and worse, and WORSE!!! So I called back up there, and as calmly as I knew how and explained everything. That THEY made my car worse with whatever it was they did to it, and I needed it fixed ASAP! So they told me to bring it in for a new oil change. WTF?!? Is that all they know how to do there?!?! So I asked, didn't you all just do that last week? And he's like "yeah, but we're going to use an extra-premium oil this time" So I told him "clearly you don't expect for me to pay right?" And he's like yeah it'll just be $49.95 plus tax" So I tell him,

So he's like, if the oil change doesn't work, then we won't charge you for that, and we'll just do the lifter replacement and charge you for it". OK........of course these idiots are not going to do what works, because they're so set on this $1500 lifter repair that I'm NOT paying for!!! Afterall, I can't give them what I don't have!

Resolution: I called the Better Business Bureau and filed a complaint against them. I did this because I know that they will continue to play games with me until they know and understand that I'm serious. They just see me as a young woman who they can get over on, and unfortunately because I don't know much about cars, its somewhat true. Tomorrow I'm going in for this "oil change" and they've already been contacted by the BBB with my complaint, so hopefully it'll go well, but we'll see. Thanks for listening! And by the way:

60k should of been recommended

AUTHOR: classic muscle power - (USA)

I would like to say this women should have read vehicle manual to know there are services recommended by the manufacture.  and the shops employees and owner should have recommended a sixty-k service for this reason, this is a common problem were both-sides do not listen then it turns in-to a bad experience for everyone. most vehicle owners fail to do oil changes that cause "slug build-up"... now to hooking up a scanner to read the code seems simple well it isn't for this is why most techs know how to use a scanner during a "driveability test" or the difference between "hard&soft-codes" to decide what causing them in the first place, after all it's are  job to help the customer understand in a positive not a negative way and by showing them as well... this is what we do to have are customers happy&satisfied every time.

car fixed

well where do i start, first off we brought the car in and made all repairs at no charge to the customer and furnished her with a loaner car, there was no intent from us to damage this young ladys car, we tried to save her some money by doing a eng flush it didn't work, it dislodges more dirt from inside eng and made matters worse, for that reason we replaced all the lifters and that toke care of the noise total cost to me was around $1600.00 now for the diag issue the equipment to diag the computer system on todays cars are very expensive and the training for my techs is very costly also. i require my techs to attend 80 hours of training per year. that i pay for. they are all master ase techs, this young lady attacked us on this web sight before i was ever informed of a problem, and the better business bureau did not contact us until we where already taking care of the problem, we have also discontinued the use of the chemicals that caused this problem i am sorry that this happened, we do not try to take advantage of people, just trying to do our best to be honest and fair and still be able to make a decent living for me and my employees,

they ripped you off

AUTHOR: anonymous - (U.S.A.)

Don't take the car back or make sure they fix it and you document what happened...demand a refund. You shouldn't have paid the 500.00 for a 'fancy oil change"....yse of course you got ripped off and they lied to you and probably damaged your car more in the process and didn't fix it. That happens all the time...don't listen to or trust them at all and try to find a reputable mechanic to take it to though that's hard....anyone charging you 500.00 for that is screwing you over...don't pay them anymore or get a refund....then don't ever go back to them again....they'll take advantage of anyone

Please go to school

AUTHOR: Tech1 - (U.S.A.)

You need to go to school. First of all What was the DTC??? It is not as easy as plugging a computer in. If you think, it is you don't need to be driving. For example I have had cars come in and have a p0301 (miss fire cly # 1) it only happens at 2000-3000 RPM( Fuel injector) I have had another that only happens in drive (ignition coil) another that only happens the first 10 seconds of a cold start(Valves carbon up) and others that never misfire when we have them.

They use fancy words??? go to school you might learn something using that langue really shows you never passed high school and that is easy I did it with a 3 grade reading and spelling so they use word that a third grader understands.

They say they could not find what??? Evap, misfire, LOOSE NUT BEHIND THE WHEEL? You have no information they did find a noise that you did not know and tried to sell you a valve repair you declined it!!! You May never have complained about it but Techs must make notes about every thing we find wrong about your car I have had many people come in and never know they have a light on or a bulb out. You went with the might fix repair over the what will fix it repair sounds Like YOU ARE RELAY SMART
