I purchased a 2003 Cavalier from the Car Store Aug 26th 2014.  The car was supposed to have been inspected in accordance with MD state guidelines. During the second month (we had a 30 day warranty), the fuel pump went, 2 tires had to be replaced and all of then had dry rot which could not have happened in 2 months and should have been caught during inspection. The front tires were ruined because of the wheel alignment, that was brought up during a test drive, but obviously never done.

I understand that the warranty is 30 days, but the problems that happened with this car should have been known by any reputable mechanic inspecting the vehicle. The tires and alignment should have been taken care of.

The worst was yet to come.  After owning this car for 2 months, the timing chain broke and ruined the entire engine. The car only has 84 thousand miles on it and I was assured it was inspected and was a reliable vehicle.  I now have a 4 year car loan on a piece of junk. The fuel pump cost 460.00, the tires were 125.00 each, the alignment was 80.00 and to replace the motor with a USED motor is going to cost me 2200.00.

This car cost 3300.00

I should have known the Car Store was a rip off because when I saw the car online, it advertised automatic and power windows.  When I went to test drive, it was manual and crank windows.  I didn't mind that so much because of the price and I enjoy driving a manual transmission.

I have called and emailed the car store several times.  When I made the first phone call, I was told by the receptionist that the manager was "busy" and she would have him call me back. I told her the whole story.  Within 30 seconds, SHE called me back and said the manager said there was no warranty so they wouldn't do anything about it.

I don't believe she even spoke to the manager, seeing that she called back so quickly. I DO believe they will not do anything about it because of the many emails and phone calls I have made since and get no response what so ever.

I expect a used car to have issues, but not to this extent and it was obvious this car was not inspected to MD standards. I have to now pay for a car for the next 4 years that doesn't run, and I can't afford the 2200.00 for a new motor.  I"m not asking for anything for free, but I think the proper customer service would be to give me some sort of discount on the repairs seeing that it was never inpsected in the first place.
