Same thing has happened to me!!! I was so eager to further my education, I took the bait. I was told that all I had to do was take 7 tests, and then I would be able to sit for the state boards in my state. They went on to say that they would provide all my materials- which included my study guides--7.

I met with a College Network associate, out of Houston, at a Barnes and Nobles store in Austin. He never mentioned to me about having to enroll at Excelsior College, to do my clinical studies, which is additional money. He also never mentioned that at each time I go to take a test at the local testing center', it was an additional $ 100.00. I was also told that they would be financing my study guides, which I would receive, one at a time, and as I completed a test and passed the test, they would send out the next study guide.

I was sent all seven study guides, plus a NCLEX-RN review guide and even two study guides for courses which I had already taken in college prior (which, mind you, the courses were plainly listed on my transcripts).

When I tried to cancel, I was told that I couldn't, even if I sent back the unused, unopened study guides. The company is taking $83 out of my checking account, monthly. I have talked to a different person every time. Even though I called 4 days later, they refused to let me out of the contract because I ha to call within 3 days, and now I am forced to pay for something I am not going to even use. They are making me take a loan that I do not want or need for some study guides that I have no use for will ever use.

This company presents itself as an Educational Institute, but they actually only offer study guides that they say can guarantee that you will pass your exams to become an RN. They are not an Educational institute. They are not associated with any College, and the study guides they are offering are just books that any College or University you attend, will have available for you to purchase. They are a publishing company and they are RIPPING people off!!!
