Was looking for a Pentax MX-1 and found a great price at the Digital Pros.   I guess because their ad popped up at the top of the page, I just thought the company was somehow legit.   The website looked reasonable, so I went ahead and placed the order.   First issue was that I never received an order confirmation, just an email a few days later stating that my order was placed incorrectly.   The zip code was entered wrong??  I had to call Bruce and confirm the correct address.   While on the phone,  I went ahead and bought the battery and SD card for what I thought was just a few dollars more, but was actually billed $200!    I didn't realize that until I checked my statement later.

I never received an invoice or tracking number.   Sent an email and followed-up with 3 phone calls requesting order confirmation and tracking number.  Was advised that the order could have shipped from "multiple" warehouses and it would take time to get this information.    Really??    I was finally promised that "Greg" would call back in an hour with the tracking number.   When I didn't hear from him, I saw all the negative reports online and realized that I had made a mistake.    I called again to get the tracking number which they didn't have.  I told them to cancel the order.    They told me it has already shipped.    They immediately processed a return, but then told me I would have to pay a re-stocking fee.   I asked them for proof that the order had shipped and they refused.     Clearly, it had not.

I reported the fraud to Chase, and they are investigating.     How can a merchant claim to charge a restocking fee for an order for which there was no evidence it ever shipped??      Based on what I know now, this company makes their money from re-stocking fees.    They either ship fake merchandise that gets returned (with a re-stocking fee), or they don't ship the merchandise, but claim to do so hoping that the customer will just cancel the order and ask for their money back.    A bogus return order is issued and re-stocking fee charged.   It is interesting that they offer no documentation of any business transactions, but claim to record all calls.  I have never encountered a business like this one.

I have other opinions on how these guys make their living, but you get the picture.        I have contacted Google in hopes that Digital Pros will be barred from advertising.    If I don't get all my money back, I will go after the ISP and their credit card processor.     I can't believe these crooks get prominent placing in Google, given their complete lack of anything resembling a legitmate business model.

What a colossal waste of time.   On top of everything else, these guys are extremely rude and couldn't care less about customer service.   I see that if I ordered the same camera and accessories from a reputable dealer, it actually would have been less than what my credit card was charged.   Someone needs to stop these guys...............it might as well be me.      Advice for the next poor victim is to get all your money back and complain vigorously to your bank, their internet service provider and any company that is advertising for them (such as Google AdWords).     Good luck.
