The Experience, LLC The Experience, LLC Travis Osborne book scam Severna Park Maryland

A nice young man (Travis Osborn)  came to my door raising money so that he a a group of students from Emery Riddle could go to Boeing in Seattle to restore a P15 Mustang.  Said he was in the neighborhood and his father, a retired marine, suggested that he canvas the neighborhood for sales (and offer to wash windows, rake leaves).  He said that my neighbor had given him money and recommended me (she hadn't done either).  Said that the books would be donated to Johns Hopkins Hospital where his aunt worked.  He mentioned that he only needed to sell 4 more books.

I gave him a check for $61 and he left, promising to bring back pictures of the restored airplane.  Something didn't seem right and I googled The Experience, LLC.  Saw that it was potentially a scam.  Checked for a TRavis Osborne at Emery Riddle and the name didn't come up.  Checked with my neighbor and she hadn't given him any money.  So I got in my car and drove down the street.  I saw Travis and asked for my check back.  He asked why and I told him that I saw the scam report about The Experience and that his story was too similar to the others that I had read.  I asked him to show me his drives licence. At that point, he gave me my check back.  As I drove away, I looked back and that nice young man was giving me the finger.

When I got home, I called the local police and reported him and gave them his location and a description.
