I ordered grant information from The Grant University for special offer of $.99 shipping only charge. The regular promotion was for $1.98.

I noticed there was a $69.95 debit charge when I called to check my bank transactions. I spoke to customer service to find out that The Grant University had charged my account for $69.95 not $.99 cents. Customer service gave me the phone number 877-207-1615 and I called several times and a recording said to try calling back later.

I then called my bank debit card department to file a claim of this fraudulant charge that was not authorized. My bank is to contact this company for the fraudulant charge and I will be credited back the $69.95.

It's not a fraudulent charge. You agreed to the charge by checking the little box when you registered online. You should have clicked on the link beside the box and read the terms and conditions. This is from their site:

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Revised: May 08, 2008
By checking the box and clicking on the submit button you will be allowed exclusive access to our vast Online Resource Center. A login and password will be immediately generated for you so that you can begin your pursuit of a grant. You will have 7 days from your initial signup to use our Online Grant Resource Center without charge. If you're not satisfied or would like to discontinue further service for any reason, simply cancel during the initial 7 day trial, and you will not be billed. After your initial 7-day risk-free trial, your subscription to TheGrantUniversity.net will automatically renew for a cost of sixty-nine dollars and ninety five cents for continued access. You may cancel anytime to discontinue service. Billing for continued access to our Online Resource Center will remain at sixty-nine dollars and ninety five cents to be charged once monthly. To cancel service for any reason please contact us at 1-877-207-1615 or e-mail us at support@thegrantuniversity.com.

Call the number and send an email with return receipt. If you can get a physical address, send a certified letter to that address. Tell them to cancel your service immediately and not to bill your credit card again. Tell them you want a return email with confirmation that your account has been cancelled. Tell them you are contacting the district attorney's office and reporting them as scam artists since they do not answer the phone or provide a physical address where you can cancel your subscription. Print out the email and attach it to a letter to your credit card company. Instruct your credit card company not to pay again. If you get a return email with a cancellation confirmation, send that to your credit card company. Then follow through and report them to the district attorneys office.

Remember, keep copies of emails you send and recieve and copies of any email receipts. You will need these if you have to argue the charges with your credit card company.

Good luck.
