The "at home services group" recruits and does basic training of new candiates. Then push the reps out with numerous offers of support which never occur. Any miscalculation of a priced item is then withheld from commissions or the Sale rep is forced to travel back to the customer home to get an addendum to the original price agreement. There are frequently disagreements in the actual work to be done but the sale rep is never right.

There is no compenstion for use of your own vehicle, gas, toll road fees, cell phone, or computer required to do the job. Sales associates are not allow to reverify appointments before traveling long expensive distances. If an associate reschedules an appointment for any reason they are critized at lenght. When not running appointment the Sales Associates are expected to work in an area store with the "Orange Apron" and help customers while pushing for any type of lead. The time spent in the store make the store look good and helps them cover an understaffed store in the first place. No credit or compensation is ever given to the Sales Associate.

With all of that said I know the Sales Associate is actually a 100% commissioned employee that is fact an independant contractor that should have full control of their own schedule. On occasion last minute appointments are added with little notice and the Associate is to immediately change their plans to fit that change with no questions asked.

Recently I was dismissed stating I had no showed two appoinments which I disagree about and with no notice when I arrived at a weekly sale meeting was told to leave. My so called Sales Manager advised I would be paid for outstanding commissions and when I advised I have one $6,000 sale pending to be signed he said just get it signed and call him that he would get it from me. I returned all promotion material and the signed contact done two days later to the Sale Manger and he again said he would take care of commissions.

Well of course he was lying and I never recieved another penny from them. No phone calls were returned until I left a seriously worded message and then the Sales Manager called and basically said tough break.

As of today they have even protested my unemployment claim. I am am sick of the coorporate retail mentallity and will never spend another penny at Home Depot and advise everyone in my little world the same massage.
