The Law Office of Brett Margolin, P.C. Promised a modification and took our money told us to TRUST them and didn't do anything at all Lake Grove, New York

Well I am just as confused as you on this matter.  I received a call about 3 weeks ago from the other company and what was funny is that there was nothing good that the other employee was saying about Brett Margolin Law firm.  then when I called that company back the message said Brett Margolin Law Firm.  I went ahead and entered in the extension and it went to the employee that called from the other company and I asked him what was going on and he played it off as they were in the same building.  Then why would the message say Brett Margolin's Law Office?  I would not hire them and I hope that you haven't. 

we were told by Brett's office when we did the modification (if that is what you want to call it) on what the mortgage company wanted on the payments and that is what we did and now we are having to deal with the mortgage company stating that we are a month behind and still getting letters stating that they are going to foreclose if we don't send them the payment.  When i called law office I was told that we needed to either pay the amount or pay additional amount each month until the account is up to date.  I was told:  What do you want me to do about it? They should let the mortgage company know that they made a mistake and they should take the money that we paid them to get our payments current because they messed up on giving us the wrong information.  More or less sorry about your luck.  It is ashame that people in that field take advantage of hard working people who are just wanting a break.  Something just isn't right?

After talking to the other company I was told that they couldn't talk to me....  He said that we did a modification.  Of course he took the side of Brett Margolin's Law Firm.  wasn't listening to what I was telling them at all.  So after that call I knew that they were merging...  so again we got the bad deal and have learned our lesson.  Do not trust anyone that say "TRUST US"

Dear Ms. Ex-employee:

I am sorry that your experience working with the firm was unpleasant, however, I find your accusations somewhat disconcerting and improper. My firm did not 'merge' with any other. That is simply incorrect.

Regarding your employment situation, there were some personality conflicts that I do not feel should be disclosed online for your own privacy reasons. Nevertheless, despite your allegations, several of the employees here agree that you were not relieved for any "whisteblowing" activities. I do not want to besmirch you, so I will stop there.

With regard to your contentions: you are correct in one respect. I am a divorce lawyer, but I would not be appearing on the cover of the Bar's monthly newspaper for foreclosure defense work if I did not practice both areas of law. I have appeared in court for numerous matters, including foreclosure defense, divorce, family law, landlord-tenant, administrative compliance, real property disputes, contractual obligations and other matters. To put it simply, I can do more than foreclosure defense.

I disagree with your contention that I have no experience in the field, as every judge / referee sitting in the County's courts dealing with foreclosure defense knows my name and face.

If you have grievances regarding your employment, I do not think this is the correct way to address them. Thank you.

I worked for the company a few months ago and was let go because I questioned their practices. I was given files to start that were under both attorney names 95% of the files did not qualify for a modification but I WAS TOLD TO SEND THE PAPERWORK THRU REGARDLESS. As long as it was sent to the bank they felt they did their job. I have been working in this arena for many years now and could not put my name on those files for any amount of money. Yes they are dissolving Brett Margolin because they have ruined his name and reputation. Brett is a kid that wanted to make a quick buck only practicing a few years. He has absolutely no experience in this field nor does Rory Alercon he is a divorce lawyer. Eventually Rory's reputation will be ruined as well. The real crooks behind this are Elliot Levine and John Lawrence they are the owners and use the attorneys names so they can collect a fee. Shame on all of you for taking advantage of peoplewith their most valued asset. I HOPE THEY SHUT YOU DOWN !!!

Hi, after reading your report I see that the address for this company is the address for what is now Alarcon Law Group. I have been reading these posts for weeks now and wondering...are they the same company? I called their office a few weeks ago and was told that the two companies merged. They do have the same address so wondering who it was you dealt with (first names ok) regarding your loan? I am wondering if they are one in the same and have just changed their name to avoid legal implications or if they did merge as the employee said. Anything would be helpful.

Just want to say that this case is being resolved.
