36 years ago I was burned for some money. With inflation, maybe an amount similar to yours.

The lesson I learned was to avoid any "opportunities" I did not FULLY understand, which means I only get (further) involved with products or services I have prior satisfying experiences with. Hobbies can be one example. Employment experiences or contacts can be another. I believe Peter Lynch was a successful investor because he only invested in companies whose products he liked to use.

People can, and will, tell you anything to get your money....... Too good to be true is too good to be true.

If I was ripped off by a scamming company, I would post the name of the Radio station that ran the deceptive commercial. Maybe if the Radio or TV stations get listed in the Rip Off Reports, maybe they would start refusing to air some of the DECEPTIVE commercials that the scammers want to pay them BIG MONEY to air.

If not for the media, many Rip Off companies would have a MUCH harder time finding PREY to make them into VICTIMS.

Your not alone in this scam. A lot of people just like you are getting ripped off every minute. First thing is, you did the right thing in sending the letter to the BBB and Attorney General.

If the company is still in business and haven't shut their doors to run. You still have a fighting chance to get your money back. It will just take a lot of effort on your part. It sucks!! - I know - I was a victim too and I am fighting it now myself. Even my husband thought it was legit. As far as your husband goes. If he loves you enough he will help you through this. You thought, just like thousands of other people do, you were making a better and more secure life for you and your family.

That is not a bad thing and certainly not worth getting divorced over - it's only money, everyone makes mistakes and thousands are being taken for a ride all the time. Your vows were for better and for worse ? this may be one of the worst times ? he should remember that. Best of luck to you.
