My wife and I went into the room place and wanted to purchase a couch. We talked to a sales guy and looked at the couch. We decided to talk about it for a bit and then if we wanted it, we would come back. We decided on purchasing it, and headed back to the store. When we got there the sales guy we first talked to was not there, so we got a different sales guy.

As he was ringing up our purchase, I noticed that there was some insurance protection on the credit that we had applied for. I told him that I did not want the insurance, and his response was "but it's free". I told him that I did not want any other company having all my personal information and that I did not want this insurance. He said he understood and that was that.

Fast forward 2 weeks, and I get a letter in the mail from Assurant Solutions thanking me for allowing me to choose them for my insurance needs. after reading the letter (more like a book) the creditor is named "harlem furniture".

I will never do business with this company again, and urge you to do the same. I realize that it's only "pennies on the dollar" insurance in case something were to happen where I cannot pay my bill, but I'm willing to take that chance, and for this company to automatically enroll me in this "protection" is absurd. not only do I have to take time out of my day to call this company and cancel this, but now they have all my personal info, which God only knows who they will give it to.

If I could, I would call The Room Place, and tell them to come get their furniture, and hit that little button that's labeled "delete" while they have my info on their monitors

WOW.. wouldn't you figure it, now these people are charging me for this insurance AFTER I have already cancelled this! We just got a new bill yesterday showing us these charges.

On top of all that, they show us our balance online is $780.51 (which is correct) but on our paper statement it shows our balance is $923.51. How is this possible? you cannot talk to anyone from their listed phone number. Emails are not returned. nothing. If this company is watching, just know that I work at a large car manufacturing plant, and I will be posting flyers around the plant urging people not to shop at your store.
