The Film, Stage & s****.> I would have settled for a thousand attendees and didn't even get close to that, more like a few hundred attendees at best! The exhibitors were distraught and inconsolable at the ineptitude and mismanagement of this event. I heard that the majority of s****.> Overall this was a complete waste of time for all! They offered me a booth there for 1k and as the event deadline drew closer the price went down to a few hundred dollars! Who does that? The desperation was palpable and would not recommend wasting 10 min. on this event either as an exhibitor or an attendee.

I read on their website that they are moving to Los Angeles this year as well to look for new customers(Suckers) to target. You have been forewarned do your homework and explore the alternatives to this event.

Sincerely,
Waste of Time

This film festival is FAKE! DO NOT ENTER THIS FILM FESTIVAL.

AUTHOR: Graz - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, January 07, 2011

I entered my short film into this film festival along with many other film festivals in Dec 2010 and the film festival has come and gone and I never received a rejection or acceptance letter! No one responded to my emails or phone calls and they still have my $40 submission fee!!!

They are not even registered with the better business bureau!

STAY AWAY!

The people who left positive comments on this report are obviously somehow involved in this SCAM as who would navigate to the RipOFF report website to leave a positive comment on this kind of thing?

DO YOUR RESEARCH AND ONLY ENTER LEGIT FILM FESTIVALS!!!

Not sure what you're talking about...I had a great success there!

What crack is this person smoking?  A few hundred attendees?  My booth was swarming all day long and I know I didn't get to talk to everyone there.  I had to trade in my barcode scanner twice because I maxed out its memory.  If there were only a few hundred attendees, they wouldn't be able to pull off 2 shows a year and do it well.

For the person who says that the exhibitors and attendees are there to get business not give business....OF COURSE WE ARE!  We need to make money too!  If we GAVE freebies away to everyone I wouldn't have had a company for the past 19 years.  I'd be out of business in the first year.  So let's be realistic.  We're there to spread our name to create awareness and make money.  You the attendee are there because you either need our production services, want ot see what other production services are out there, or want to see if we will hire you for our productions.  Would you want to be hired and not get paid?  You're not giving your services either and neither are we so let's just end that discussion right there.

For the record, I'm one of the "so called" sponsor of the event and I work closely with the event management each time.  Not sure how you can "fabricate" a sponsor.  I've been in the entertainment biz for years and I've seen many a production company come and go.  I love how it's all hearsay of "I heard" rather than "I know."  I'm one of their sponsors and I know I'm real.  I know who their other sponsors are as well and they're real too.  I will keep coming back to s****.>

From and Attendee's P.O.V.

I attend the Show Biz Expo every year and I must say, I have yet to be impressed with the expo or the companies and business people that show there.  With both attendees and exhibitors alike, no one is every interested in giving business, just getting it.  The only people who seem to attend, in my observation, has been people who cannot get work and we all know there's enough of them around.

10,000 people showing could be a projection of how many union talent are out of work... perhaps?

interesting - I exhibited last year too and disagree with you

I have to say that I dont agree with anything the person above wrote ("Sebi").
I myself was a first time exhibitor last year at the show and had a really good response. Now, I am a bit puzzled that you got a booth for only a few hundred dollars. But beside that, I had a really great turn out at my booth. and not to mention, i got a lot of new students from the show. personally, i think its pretty nuts that you file a complaint against the company because you didnt get business from the event. maybe you just have a bad product or you didnt market correctly. whatever the case may be, my business was very happy with the results. granted they didnt get 8,000 like they said, give them a break lol, it was pouring out that day. not to mention, i looked at the file they sent me and they dont guarantee it, they say "anticipated" - which isnt a guarantee. in fact, you'll notice everyone does that. when i advertise my classes i always say "we are nearly sold out" - everyone does that. even newspapers when they try and get you to advertise in their papers they talk about circulation. you think that's all true? give me a break.
and the only reason im replying to this is because i plan on exhibiting again - this company did a marvelous job planning this event and really took good care of me. just because you had a bad experience and dindt get the business you expected doesnt mean the show itself was a flop and you think its desperation that they are calling you to exhibit again? that's funny. its called BUSINESS. They are calling you to have you back! if you call making phone calls to get clients back "desperation" then you yourself need to learn how to run a business.

anyway, good luck with your business. but for all you other folk out there doing your research (which you should be) - I am a very happy customer. Granted, not EVERYTHING was perfect, I was happy with the event overall.
